The Swiss NF does not consist of a buch of great songs. But Europe has sure seen worse NFs during these last years.....
I've just listened to the entries briefly. From that short first listening I liked Carrousel the most.

I like the two French songs best, they seem the most sincere to me. Monkey song is not that bad either.

After having given the songs another chance; I must say this NF is not bad at all (if the live performances are as good as the studio versions). The songs are quite varied. Carrousel is still the one I like best. But also Heilsarmee, Melissa and Ally would be decent altervatives. And not even the monkeys are too bad... Good luck Switzerland.

1. Jesse Ritch - Forever & A Day = 9.5/10 (could switch with "You And Me")
2. Heilsarmee - You And Me = 9.5/10 (could switch with Forever & A Day)
3. Melissa - The Point Of No Return = 9/10
4. Nill Klemm - On My Way = 8/10
5. Carrousel - J'avais rendez-vous = 7/10
6. Nicolas Fraissinet - Leve-toi = 7/10
7. Ally - Catch Me = 7/10
8. Chiara Dubey - Bella Sera = 5.5/10
9. Anthony Bighead - Do The Monkey = 1.5/10

There are many mediocre songs in this NF, but there are 3 songs that absolutely stand out (in a good way): The point of no return, You and me and Forever & A Day. I really hope that one of them wins! I'm not 100% sure about my top favourite though, because it depends on the live performance, but I'm pretty sure that I'm going to stay with "Forever & A Day".

I can't wait to watch the Swiss NF again! I don't know why, but I really have a special thing for their NFs.

My comments:

Anthony Bighead: «Do The Monkey»: This is a funny song, and I prefer it over mediocre songs for sure. Can be very funny and entertaining on stage! It’s cute and not something to hate, judging it as a joke entry of course!

Heilsarmee: «You and Me»: Just an ok song, nothing special.

Jesse Ritch: «Forever & a day»: This is a good song, I’m not amazed by it, though (at least from the first listening). Reminds me of Bruno Mars!

Melissa: «The Point Of No Return»: Not a fan of this. Sounds dated, and the chorus reminds me of “hurts, oh it hurts, really hurts, in the middle of the night…”

Carrousel: «J’avais Rendez-vous»: I really like this band and this song is so cute, not a usual stuff for ESC at all! Rooting for this!

Nicolas Fraissinet: «Lève-toi»: Reminds me of Coldplay in a way, don’t know why. It’s an ok song but I don’t see it doing well in ESC. The chorus is very weak IMO. Rest parts are ok.

Nill Klemm: «On my way»: This is too mediocre. Doesn’t give me the desire to listen to it again.

Ally: «Catch me»: This is terrible.

Chiara Dubey: «Bella Sera»: This is sweet. It can have a nice and simple performance in ESC, her with a cute dress and a nice background!

Just by reading the comments of other people I noticed this:

Melissa is so overrated! That song sounds so early 00s! SOOC

Chiara Dubey is so underrated, that song is sweet and sincere, a nice little song that can have a great atmosphere on stage, if it's performed well of course.

Heilsarmee's song is also overrated. :?

And the monkeys are not bad at all, we need a couple of joke entries, and I speak about good joke entries of course!

I just decided that "Bella Sera" is my favourite, since it's the only song I don't find cringeworthy... the rest is seriously on the verge of unbearable!
I just like how it sounds like a lullaby, and it's so soothing but I definitely don't see it winning. I predict something like Heilsarmee or Jesse Ritch will win.

If 2013 has a high standard of entries, I really don't see any of these songs making it through.

But if I had to pick one, I guess Heilsarmee would be a nice try or Carrousel.

I like Bella Sera, too. Could you tell us what she is singing (analogous)? That song is beautiful because it is not a song of the mainstream But I think you're right that her song is not "strong" enough to win...

By the way I love your vote for ESC 2012: I really loved the Croatian and Bosnian song this year!!!
