Upon further reflection I've felt this pang of sympathy for KAJ themselves in all this. I can't imagine it feels *great* to hear all this from two folks who still have a good deal of stature in the MelFest sphere, particularly Måns, who they seemed to have a really positive rapport with. I hope they know that they've handed those guys a fat freaking L and that KAJ can--and should!--cry all the way to the televote points bank. They've got a big score at the end of that rainbow waiting, and when it comes, their haters will become their waiters at the table of success.John Lundvik getting carried to the finale on name ID and then whining about Koala Tea (TM) is funny, sure, but it's NOTHING compared to Måns spending the last couple weeks taking part in promo for KAJ, giving what seemed to be genuinely gracious comments about how he thinks KAJ will win, talking about how he appreciates what they're doing, then going full mask-off the moment he gets as close as he can without winning to winning. Absolutely delicious. How deeply, deeply Selina Meyer, if that reference makes sense to anyone else. I hope he's haunted by that "Nå JAAAA" with the shiteating grin at the start of the song for years.
I wanted either Jon Henrik Fjällgren or Smash Into Pieces to win so much more. And even Theoz's "Mer av dig" spent more time in my playlist in 2023 than Tattoo.how can a swedish fan actively dislike Tattoo![]()
Yeah it is just a dialect spoken by the Swedish speaking minority in Finland. Same language though. I have no problem understanding them, I have a harder time with other Swedish dialects from mainland Sweden sometimes...Was very curious about that too!
From what I gathered it's a dialect from swedish speaking people in Finland that is mostly different in the way it's spoken rather than written? Comparable to the differences of German in Austria and Germany. Could be wrong though, just my quick research results.
Not sure I understand what you're saying… Luxembourg came back after 31 years absence last year, it's kinda hard to compare, and also I don't know what Luxembourg has to do with anything. Apparently we have different views of ESC. For me, it's not like a football World Cup, I've never rooted for a specific country, but for the songs I like best, no matter which country they represent.I'm sorry, but Luxembourg who did poor is trying with similar stuff after come back, year after year, and we are speaking about Swedish ESC winners copying themselves.. I'm really sorry..![]()
Apakabar! It will be the first time that I'm having Sweden in my Top10 since... 2000 and Roger Pontare (who was my #2 just after Alsou).![]()
Who the hell can relate to this?
Me, Britney Spears and zillions of people - we've all been relaxing in saunas whilst I haven't taken part in any revolutions at all. Not even once... can you imagine?!![]()
this!I may be alone in this, but for me it sounded like Måns said to himself:
"I'll do the same sort of song as I did 10 years ago, but it's OK if it's not as good. If Loreen can get away with what she did, well so can I!"
Sure, he does a good job singing it, but the melody is… well, basic and so are the (cringy) lyrics.
I'd much rather see KAJ winning the whole thing.
if you think they couldn't have slipped a note to some international juries saying "hey, please get rid of this for us",
Honestly, that's one of the things that gives me a lot of faith that I'm right about KAJ being a contender. If the Swedish Eurovision enterprise didn't see them as one, they probably weren't, and they could've really done something about it if they wanted to...but clearly didn't.
Second place is great! We'll take it!One of the things that will push you to success in ESC is the narrative.
Regardless which type of narrative.
Loreen, Kaarja, Lasagna, Kalush, Nemo, Konstrakta, Chanel, Bambie.....and many more had atleast a tiny bit of "story" that would make people wanna support them.
And its same here. Here being that Sweden is exiting their comfort zone for the first time in ages. This is gonna get a roaring amount of support. Almost certain televote winner at this point which would actually be historical moment as Sweden hasn't won televote in grands since 2012.
I do however sadly feel that this is gonna end up being the runner up same way Kaarja and Lasagna were as the jurors will decide that this is not "presentable" for ESC winner (which I think is nonsense cause there is enough professionalism here as much as there is fun).
