So no more Lundvik songs at MF? And this really bad news to anyone? It’s more a relief tbh.

And no John, it’s no singing competition, it’s a song competition, with the song presentation aka staging playing a very big role.

I couldn't understand the hype around Lundvik's song in 2019. And the song he wrote for Tom Leeb was shit.

For you who didnt like Revclution what was is that you didnt like? Perhaps the slow beginning with no real intro?

The howling crescendo chorus was quit impactful.

Its mostly that the expectations werent met.
In 2015, Mans delivered something innovative, he practically changed the way of thinking behind eurovision stagings.
I thought that he returned coz they had come up with something equally impressive.
Instead, I saw the staging of Unforgettable, with Lesley Roy elements and pieces of paper in the air.
As for the song itself, its musically mid, and the lyrical theme a cliche.
It was so baffling to me that everyone was calling it a certain eurovision winner, but I guess that had something to do with the fact Loreen managed it recently.
It was still a solid entry overall, just not strong enough to overcome the pure fun BBB is, and of course it wouldnt have won eurovision, at best he would have placed 3rd-5th.

Forgettable/bland melody with no real hook to the chorus. The fact that the lyrics felt hollow, corporate and soulless only made it worse.

Ireland was responsible for 5 of the 7 point difference you are welcome
And if they had put KAJ a step lower to make place for Revolution it would have been even more points. Do you think they did it because they saw Måns as a threat to the irish record or was it just because it was their taste?

I agree with Swedish newspaper Expressen here:

"Since then [Jill Johnson who sang in Swedish in 1998], Sweden has established itself as a serious Eurovision power. We've stopped taking risks, and instead put all our efforts into sharpening our form, as anything below the top ten would be considered a national disgrace. As a result, Europe sees us as rather boring friends to invite to the party.

The battle between KAJ and Måns therefore echoes that between Käärijä and Loreen in Eurovision 2023, where the jury eventually decided in Loreen's favour.

The fact that we are now sending KAJ can be seen as compensation for that. But also as proof that we are now actually entering the crazy Eurovision bubble where plain English is often rejected in favour of more exciting native languages, and where the twisted show is everything."

I mean he clearly put his whole Mansussy into the whole thing, it was delivered with a lot of passion, he clearly wanted this.
If he only had a better song, though...
Such a good description since all I see from that stage props of his is "monochromatic vulva".

But he was 3rd with the jury. Did he really expect to be higher than that? 😲
Yeah, he says he has "unresolved business" in ESC after the split screen in 2019 lolol. I think he genuinely expected the juries to help him finish at least top 3.

I think it's really stupid having a freakout over "the decline of REAL MUSIC" in Melodifestivalen after one novelty song wins. Why didn't these people have such a freakout last year when the final was 90% garbage? This is one of the best finals we've had in years songwise, and one of the most exciting voting sequences.

I think this guarantees we will never see Hooja compete, considering how much of Bara bada bastu's aesthetic is reminiscent of Hooja. If I KAJ could win, Hooja could have easily won as well, especially considering the budget they probably would have had. I wonder if they see it as a missed opportunity to launch their careers in the rest of the Nordics lol

Tobbe Ek is reporting that Dolly Style and KAJ are the only ones properly celebrating at the after party, the mood is "off". Weird to have some artists whose careers mainly are fuelled by Melodifestivalen appearences act superior over KAJ.
