but for the spanish audience this is just the culmination of a story that they have been following for three months. It's also a musical culmination of a musical love story (they fell in love by singing and playing to each other and talking about music, it may sound cheesy but it's really music what brought them together) so it doesn't feel wrong.

but instead allows you to peek into the life of this young artists learning music and developing their art (depending on the contestant, of course)

Plus, there being a 24h youtube stream also let us be able to watch and enjoy lots of moments of them singing hundreds of songs, improvising music sessions, or even watching the process of songs being written there.

Believe me, I do enjoy your enthusiasm as a fan. BUT: that's exactly the point! I, and thousands of others, don't give anything about their personal life! We just want to enjoy a song that lasts the blink of an eye! Eurovision is a three evening event, this only makes sense if you're Spanish and OT is the only way your TV can think of an internal selection! Why should everyone be interested in a three month Romeo and Juliet affair? It is REEEAALLY heavy, OMG...

Enough of my fan rant, just wanted to say that if anything, the fact that OT ended up being the method of selection of this year's entry is working to make people much more involved with Eurovision as a whole, and will probably bring new and younger fans of the contest for this year and the next to come.

You're forgiven. But for heaven's sake, pleeease, find a normal way to pick your entries, and I say this with all my cold cynical heart, I can't hear the world "reality show" anymore... xheart xheart xheart

Spain, could you forget about Amaia and (especially) Alfred and send this girl please? I'm astonished how a song can change so much with a different performer and arrangement. This is gold! She's far superior than those caramelized reality characters xlove

It's lovely, but not better than Almaia's version imo, and unfortunately we can't copy the staging of a cat licking itself and staring at the horizon...

This one is super confusing to me, because while I listen to it, I really enjoy it ... And after it's finished after a while I think how boring and dreadful it was   So hard for me to rank this, because I do think it's a really classy entry with a great melody and instrumentation and voices that work really well together that in a way knows what it's doing and is strong in it's genre and more sweet than sickly, but I also get how people can dislike it. The pace is quite bit sleep-inducing ... whilst I do think the original was more special, I think the revamp works.

At first I hated it, then it grew on me and now I hate it back again.
Among all good songs released recently, this one sounds too bland.

This is so cheesy you could use it as fondue. But there's something compelling about this - Alfred and Amaia are so young and so sweet and so in love. I don't usually go for corny ballads like this, but Alfred and Amaia are so cute and so real, which I think is very rare about eurovision duets. But I have to agree that there's something bit creepy and weird about Alfred and the way he always leaves his mouth open, which takes away some of the magic. If Alfred pulls his act together and they nail the staging, I see this actually ending up on the first half of the scoreboard.

i was totally prepared to start disliking this once more entries came out, but all of them are out now and this grew on me. i even like alfred's 80s-italian-singer-who-smokes voice now. between this and ieva, i feel particularly like a teenage girl this year. maybe ingrosso appreciation is coming next to seal the deal.

also, a good channel would absolutely get this in the top 5. but it's tve, so y'all better just hope they are not right-side-of-scoreboard.

this picture has a distinct spooky energy, like he is absolutely going to drive me to the nearby woods

also, so far i still cringe to the point of teeth damage at "i dug you up like treasure" and the adlibs, but if i change my mind you will be the first to know!

You seem to be ignoring a certain someone else that your newfound teenage girl side might come to love.

I'm starting to worry that "Aww, Jesus, gross" is upstaging this iconic moment, so I'll give it some exposure:

excuse me, i feel like a teenage girl but, like, a teenage girl with confidence and self-love that would totally dump mikolas in front of the entire class because he was making fun of benjamin's big jaw. it is not happening!!!
