I'm happy!!! FINALLY we made the right choice :D

Now there is a lot of work to do.... The staging OMG... OT has had great stagings so far and they decide to fuck it all in the most important show...
And Alfred... They have a lot to work with him not to fuck it all with weird expressions, weird vocals, over-excitement.... etc
Amaia is just perfect with everything she has. She could fart for 3 minutes and it would still be beautiful. What a sensibility for music xheat

They have the most important thing if you ask me: truth. The song tells a story (the lyrics are beautiful) and this one (about the first love) is just their own story. That's why it looks sincere and honest. We are obviously not going to win, the odds reaction is just because we chose well for chance, but we should be able to be top-10 if things are done properly. We're not going to win, but it's a first step to do it in the future. FINALLY.

I won't give 12 points since it's not my ideal song, but I have to give 10 because I'm so happy :D

BTW Thank God "Lo malo" didn't win. I'd cancell all my plans to Lisbon if I had to be represented with such a song or, at least, leave my Spanish flag at home... I'm absolutely for a feminist message in Eurovision or anywhere, but with a good song. And with something the singers actually like. Thanks.

As I said I like the song, so wanted to give 7 pts but the staging really tried to make me dislike the song.

6 pts it is ^^

From the beginning I wanted Amaia to win, which she did, so I am happy. But I am not too sold on the song, its pretty, but thats it. I think its because of the staging and we might get a revamp or something, I hope at least. I like the purity though and their voices melt into each other. Good job Spain, after last years disaster this is at least a bit refreshing and I usually like a duet at Eurovision, we didnt have such duo for a long time I feel.

I am so surprised at how well Eurovision fans take it. I am watching quite a few Top Videos and they are soooo often place 1. I am seriously weirded out.

First time I saw this song performed I knew nothing of the back story between the 2 of them but found it charming and compelling. They have a very believable chemistry. It's rare to find a male/female duet that works well. This does. But whoever has any connections with the Spain HoD needs to tell them to get back to the original performance which was so intimate and drew the viewer in. They need to ditch the pianos, which create an unnecessary barrier, and get back to having hand mics (not face ones). It really was close to perfection in its original form & did not need to be changed.

I hate how much they cling onto each other, but the best song really won. It has an obvuous classical quality to it, and it’s a risk but I’m 60% sure this will do well

I'm completely undecided on this one... On the one side it seems like a solid entry with a magical atmosphere but on the other side I do not feel anything somehow... xshrug It gets quite boring after 1:30 or something like that... Nevertheless they get 5 points from me because as I said its a solid entry. Their voices blend together very well and their stage presence also isn't that bad! So I can see potential for Eurovision...

Im fearing another poor result for :es:

I think almost nobody actually Will hate this song, Its decent enough. But thats about it.....Its decent.
I doesnt bring anything new to the table, it is not exceptionally well sung (although again....decent) and most importantly, the whole thing just feels forced and disingenuine.
They are trying WAY to hard to convince you there is atmosphere and chemistry between them, which makes me doubt if there was any to begin with.

I'm sad with the reception here :( I think it's a great song with fantastic chemistry between the performers and top 5 potential written all over if the spanish delegation doesn't go with a cheesy staging. Everything is just sooo good

This was so fierce! It was my favourite of the solo songs. :(

Then from the finalists my favourite was "Lo Malo". It sounds like a music hit and it feels like Spain decided to waste it by choosing a song sung by some Troy and Gabriella from "High School Musical" who need to find a room ASAP. (Sorry for the description, but this is what Almaia reminds me of...)

I understand many of you don't like it and think we'll have another bottom, but at least it's not a ridiculous song like "Do it for your lover"... I won't be ashamed everytime I listen to it, and this is great XD.

There is a lot of time for Spain to start improving the song after all we are at the end of January which gives them a month and a half to get a good revamp (hopefully not doing what poor Albania did)

It's a nice song, the chemistry is good between Alfred and Amaia (are they together btw?) but I don't see it doing well. This is one of the cases that I was talking about in Cyprus' thread. That every year we get a copy of last year's biggest hit (outside the Eurovision bubble) or last year's winner. They tried to serve us another Amar pelos dois. A soft, touching, cute, sweet song. I like the fact that it feels true and sincere and you get the feeling of the lyrics. Alfred and Amaia seem so young (don't know their age) and the whole performance feels so innocent and pure. But as I said, the average viewer will definitely be reminded of Portugal 2017.

Anyway, good luck guys!

(If only Magia had a better chorus... The verses are amazing)

THE GOOD:
-It's a very sweet sounding song.
-The vocals do what they're supposed to do for the type of song that it is.

THE BAD:
-It's kind of a bore to listen to.
-It also sounds old.

THE VERDICT:
Call this a case of Spain over-correcting itself from last year's entry, which, at least to me, wasn't a bad song (it was just the method by which it was picked that I had a problem with) and I actually prefer it over this entry. This is a sweet song, but that's all it is. On top of its boring and old sound, this is perhaps too safe a choice made by the Spainards. 6 points

I knew such songs will come after Salvador's. This one does absolutely for me. It's a copy, almost the same song. Salvador's song was special, it was both fresh and old-fashioned. It could win Eurovision in 1957 and 2017. Spain tries to send something similar, but honestly, I do not think it will work. I understand that Jamala send a emotional ballad and won, and then the next year Portugal won with emotional ballad as well, but you cannot compare those two song, as they are different. Jamala's is a powerful one and Salvador's is a calm one. Spain steals from Portugal this year. It's nothing new this time. I hope Spain does badly this year, as I am really annoyed.

Copying last years winner is not a good idea, exactly :D The song itself is lovely and they are so nice but I don't feel any connection, they just sing to each other and they are so close.
It's just a trivial love song, nothing really happens there.
I love how they sit and pretend to play the piano, then they get up and the piano hilariously keeps playing like :ro: 2014 or :ba: 2012 lol. Fix it please
