Lyrics are irrelevant if you don't speak or understand Spanish. Which is almost all of Europe. To me it comes across as a power ballad because it doesn't have any lift to it go to another place. I do agree this should easily get a top 10 if it is staged well and has a good running order position.

Well, maybe for someones the lyric is irrelevant. But what do you want... to sing in English like the 90% who participate in ESC to understand the lyric?. And I am talking about the message, not more XD.

What would you describe it as?

Anyway this is already screaming flop of the night to me and will likely finish outside the top 15, like the "Molly Smitten-Downes" of this year I'm afraid....the one that gets hyped to the heavens before the contest and then crashes and burns.

Different story.
Molly was hyped AFTER she released her song.
Edurne was hyped BEFORE and now she's no longer hyped :D

What I meant was, that a lot of people in Europe don't speak Spanish or understand so having good lyrics will mean nothing if people don't understand them. She could be singing about anything.

Dramatic and powerful - any idea when we will see a live version?

I love this. It has shot up to the number one spot on my list. If they stage it right it could be amazing. 12 points.

I've just noticed that Spain is actually falling in the odds. After the initial climb yesterday, it's slowly sliding down. It was 19 midnight last night and now it is 41. Obviously the people doing the odds don't agree.

Anyway, the lyrics are quite random. I needed the whole day to understand the lyrics and I'm a native speaker myself

Well, the message was clear indeed, but I just found the lyrics quite wtf

She loved someone, but he/she left (or died, maybe?) before she had the chance to say she loved him/her. She wants him/her back.

As long as the obligatory 'corazon' is mentioned  I was looking forward to that!

I like the song's arrangement, and this is certainly better than the hyped Ruth Lorenzo song from last year. Would definitely benefit from a great staging though to stand out.

Dont really get the hype about this? It's good but not a winner in my eyes... I much preferred Ruth.

Perfect. So take her back to the UK. Pleeeeeeeease xpray xpray xpray

Nah you're alright. She's probably not over that 12 points she was guaranteed from the UK, that mysteriously vanished.

More likely an indication that Spain is this year's biggest fanwank;)

"Amanecer" is #02 in the iTunes chart (only beaten by Alejandro Sanz's new song also released today). We must remember "Amanecer" was #01 before it was officially released, only with people pre-ordering :D
