And this has been criticized as well. Besides, their song is much calmer and full of deep emotion, a dimmed, unmoving background can work in their favour. (I'm not saying that it currently does).
In their first rehearsal their background was white... I don't see connection between white and their calm song with full of deep emotion(s) that tells the story about monsters inside of us. Besides, this wasn't the point of my comment. I've just tried to make a point about your previous comment in which you said that everything is too static for the Slovenian staging without proper LED background. But obviously you haven't read my previous comments: Slovenian staging might appear static to the viewers in the arena, but (as Raay said) they will try to create the dynamics of their performance for TV viewers with camera work. So, yes, maybe Slovenian staging is dull and uninventive for people right now, but let's wait how their performance will come across TV. Think! Take as a counter-example the magnificent LED backgroud of Georgia. There is no doubt it is simply spectacular, but for whom? Are we going to watch Georgia's performance all the time from distance in order to see the great LED shots or we will get a glimpse of the singer from time to time? I think we will, and I believe that thereby the narrative of the Georgian LED presentation will be lost to TV viewers. Finally, if you remove LED screen from the Georgian singer, what are we left with? STATIC singer who doesn't even move her hips in Gothic dress singing a super dynamic song that would require a lot of movements... Basically, I think we will know for sure who chose/prepared better staging only during the night of events - only then we will see who considered only arena, and who considered not only arena viewers, but also TV viewers. Further debate is pointless, imo. Let's see next Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday who was right
