They must still think it's 100 % televoting.
Everything about this reminds me of Belgium 2014. I fail to see the appeal. And it's not because I would dislike the genre or even the song (it leaves me cold, there is nothing to like and nothing to hate about it), but even it's in own genre it's a weak song. The only thing that stands out is the condition of the performers and if a song requires a backstory to stand out, then it's not a good song. I have seen how the NF panels are all prasing this song, but it really gives me theimpression that they are doing this to be politically correct, rather than giving their actual thoughts about it. Let's face it, this would have been a bottom 2 place from the juries, since it's a type of song that they don't like.

GREAT - one more step is done, rehearsal was very good!! :)

Now they need actual performance to be the same level and everything else is on audience and jury.. ;)

So glad that Slovenia rose to place 7 in the odds :) xyes

So am I, but it seems like that was mostly due to what the oddsmakers perceived as disappointments from Norway and Azerbaijan.

O.K. As for the debatte about betting odds, I'd add only one thing. If Slovenia is 9th at the time being, this means everything is just fine. Those who bet, they consider many factors (no one wanna lose his/her money), and since Slovenia never had a good (read: top3) result, people think that Europe will not vote for Slovenia this year either. Moreover, Slovenia is known for not getting votes from neighbours - apart from Croatia and Serbia over the last couple of years (thank you guys - your votes saved us two years of complete embarassment). So, if we take these info into account (as do those that bet), then you must agree that betting odds are not always about music and most likely do not reflect what will happen on the big night.

One more info for those that do not speak Slovenian. Refuting the criticism of people in Stadthalle arena that complained about the (non-)use of the LED screen, Raay said yesterday in an interview for RTV SLO that their performance focuses on TV viewers and not the audience in Vienna. So, for him/Maraaya it is much more important to have good camera work and not a show for Vienna audience. I hope this answers all the critics from Stadthalle that saw Slovenian rehearsal yesterday live and were quite disappointed. Maraaya loves them, but they are not trying to please them, but us, TV viewers :)

In my humble opinion, Raay is smart. i think he is right. I do find LED screen shoots distracting during the live performances. So, if Maraaya want that we focus on their song, music, I must agree that the poor use of LED screen is the only way... Oh, to add one more thing. Everyone is praising Georgia's spectacular LED screen, but has anyone noticed that the fire bird is the same thing that Conchita used last year? Moreover, it is actually ridiculous that also Amber/Malta (another Hero song) uses exactly the same motive in their LED screen presentation. So... We have lots of, lots of trees, landscapes and fire birds... Oh, and blossoming trees/guns :p

To sum up, I think Maraaya is doing a great job - apart the dress! I still believe it should BURN xjason

I showed the dress to my grandma and the first thing she did was to check if all her curtains are still on :twisted:

I don't get the fuss around odds, I think they are unreliable and usually bring only dissapointment for Slovenia. :)

As I am watching second rehearsals from semifinal 1, I am glad that Maraaya chose to go with no LED backdrop, because I am getting really bored of looking at trees and Earth... :) At first I was really dissapointed that they chose to go with black screen but now I think it's better that way because lights flashing in the ryhtm fits the song more than backdrop with threes or abrakadabra circles (we saw last year it didn't work when Tinkara was performing). :D

Remember Ursiika that there will be many many close-up shots of Marjetka and Raay during their stage performance. So, what for all this background? Besides, when there are violin parts of the song, our Balodis violinist will be in the center of attention whose costume works only in the dark... So, basically, I think that Raay really thought of everything, while all those commentators in Vienna haven't yet come so far. Finally, I must say, one wins Eurovision by pleasing TV viewers, not the big crowd in the arena: it is millions of viewers against 10k of viewers on the spot! So, I basically like everything what has been done so far by Maraaya - apart that dress... I don't wanna repeat myself as Cato Maior who finished each of his speeches by saying: Carthage must be destroyed, but I must repeat myself from before: Marjetka's dress must burn! T()

We'll have to wait and see, but as far as I could see, the use of LED screen is minimal without any bombastic image on display... But tomorrow all mysteries will be unveiled :p

Btw, guys, has anyone seen Maraaya's interview? God, I've laughed hard couple of times. Go and see the one with ESC RADIO. If I didn't know they were serious parents, I'd say they're on crack :) Even the poor journalist could keep the situation together. He just laughed along with them...
