Re: SAN MARINO 2018

TV of San Marino could combine a female voice with Irol, like Romania 2017... this is my idea but it could work.

The line-up appeared previously online has been confirmed. The only difference is that Franklin Calleja and Jessika Muscat are not paired anymore, both will likely participate as soloists.

2) Emma Sandstrom (Finland)
3) Giovanni Montalbano (Italy)
4) Camilla North (Norway)
5) Franklin Calleja (Malta)
6) Jenifer Besky (Germany)
7) Jessika Muscat (Malta)
8) Judah Gavra (Israel)
9) Sebastian Schmidt (Germany)
10) Sara de Blue (Austria)
11) Tinashe Makura (Zimbabwe)

That's wonderful news. I adore Jessika and her Fan Tango but was so disappointed to see that she'd been paired up with Franklin Calleja.

Well, so long as that surname stays deleted..... Tinashe for San Marinoxheat

Otherwise Irol all the way. This list... :( I went through all the names earlier and I think it's Irol or bust for me. I find Jessika endearing, but she's stuck here with Franklin (gosh, it's a ridiculously sickly sweet pairing). If they get Ralph Siegel involved for "Chain of Lights" part 2 then ok, sign me up for that iconic hot sauce but i'm just not excited at all for this selection. I really, REALLY hope Irol can pull this off. This is a chance to showcase some real San Marino talent (he's actually really good and his songs are solid) and it would be quite sad if they passed him up for NF rejects from other countries. Go with this man please San Marino and show Europe your cool hip side. He's hot live as well.

I totally agree. The only ones I really like are Irol, Jessika and Tinashe. But I really hope Irol will win!

These announcements are all well and good, but... when do the live shows actually begin?

Re: SAN MARINO 2018

Despite the thrill of the unexpected organisation of this NF, what I find so anti-climatic in it is that - regardless of who wins it - the song remains the biggest question mark and could make all of this a damp squib in the end.

In hindsight - putting Anita Simoncini aside - San Marino never really had bad singers, it's the songs that were criticised first and foremost.

The fact the emphasis was made on performers rather than on packages (singer + song) worries me, as I can't see SMTV having kick-ass potential entries in store.
