Re: SAN MARINO 2018

Why am I not surprised that Emma was chosen by the fans? already a contender to fan flop of the year if chosen

At least she's better than Franklin Calleja :?

Can't stand him, I hope he won't be among the 10. And OGAE Italy gave him their 12, obviously. :? :? :?

Re: SAN MARINO 2018

This is almost hilarious. I don't think I've ever seen NF organisers give such a limp response to obvious vote fraud. The official statement essentially reads as "oh, well, it'd be a pain to monitor for this sort of stuff – and really, this is what internet votes are like anyway. It's fine. Make sure not to hold this against him!"

Like... what? Someone rigs the results and the organiser just condones it, accepts the outcome, moves on and tells people to give him "a fair chance"? I'm not sure whether this is corruption, incompetence or plain old laziness, but it's probably the most baffling response I've seen to vote rigging in NFs since I started following them in 2013, and I've seen my share of Belarusian/Ukrainian/Spanish NFs in that time.

Must suck for the highest-placed legitimate act to miss out.

Reminds me of the AzRaH-voting-joke in the Austrian preselection process for 2016...
These things might be a warning to all those who root for more internet-voting in the actual contest.

Well, who cares if he goes...wherever the wildcard gives him access too. Like he would stand a chance to win anything even in San Marino..

Wait...how was this shortlist decided? Apparently it was decided by some Eurovision fanclubs? I thought it was decided by public votes?

Does anyone root for it?

OGAE fan clubs selected one act, another one won (well... cheated to win) the online wildcard, in few days we'll have the third name, a Sammarinese act chosen by San Marino RTV. The other 7 will be selected internally by the jury.

Well, at least they had the sense to only give the online vote one place in the NF.

I can't believe they have chosen Emma Sandström as the first wild card..

Her performance in the Finnish NF last year was H.O.R.R.O.R!

San Marino getting hip @<b><a href="http://escunited.com/forum/member.php?u=9441" target="_blank">RainyWoods</a></b>

He's seems great to be honest. San Marino go for him. Talented, one of your own and something different from a genre not represented enough at the contest. I'm scared this year because the chances seem high that i'll dislike the San Marino entry for the first time... well, ever (before 2012 I at least found their songs tolerable). It's hard to hate the hip hits though:cool: This is some hot hippidi hop.

Well, so long as that surname stays deleted..... Tinashe for San Marinoxheat

Otherwise Irol all the way. This list... :( I went through all the names earlier and I think it's Irol or bust for me. I find Jessika endearing, but she's stuck here with Franklin (gosh, it's a ridiculously sickly sweet pairing). If they get Ralph Siegel involved for "Chain of Lights" part 2 then ok, sign me up for that iconic hot sauce but i'm just not excited at all for this selection. I really, REALLY hope Irol can pull this off. This is a chance to showcase some real San Marino talent (he's actually really good and his songs are solid) and it would be quite sad if they passed him up for NF rejects from other countries. Go with this man please San Marino and show Europe your cool hip side. He's hot live as well.
