Poor San Marino, had this been another country this would have qualified.

It's not a fav of mine, but for sure better than most qualifiers from its semi and also some qualifiers from semi 1.

Shame for San Marino. Does anyone know when the full semis results will be announced, I am really interested which positions non-qualifiers occupied, especially Valnetina.

Monday... I'm curious too but in a way... I don't want to know... if she was 11th and missed out by few points...

Oh please, no need to make a tragedy out of it, i love the song, but let's face it...an old-fashioned song in italian language sang second in the strong semi by a micro state representative...it was doomed right from the start :(
I was devastated by the failure of Montenegro too but i knew that was coming (though they had better chance to qualify than San Marino, they had neighbor votes)...so let's relax and hope San Marino doesn't withdraw and will keep sending good songs for us to enjoy ;)

Yeah, on tea with lemon and positive emotions, darling :D
I mean the strongest in variety, the first semi was stuffed with ballads and dubstep entries (mid-tempo ballad, classic soulful ballad, dubstep, ethnic ballad, mid-tempo ethnic influenced song, slow power ballad, strong mid-tempo beat ballad, depressing ballad, dubstep+rap, rock ballad, oriental inspired pop dance, power ballad, dance with dubstep elements, dance with drum elements, another ballad, pop).
This one offered: bubble pop, ethnic drum dance, ethnic electronic ballad, ska with rebetiko, ethnic lullaby balld, pop-rock, ethnic rock, 2 power ballads, rap, dance opera, pop-soul, indie, half-schlager ballad etc., i can go on for hours)
Too much was on a table and it all looked yummy in it's own way.

I disagree.. i hope San Marino withdraws and the same goes to Israel.. this is really such a shame.. nothing justifies not qualifying this song.. you know, i wouldn't care if she ended up 26th but for Hungary, Armenia and Romania to qualify and this not, this is a scandal and it sends a very bad message.. I also don't think Valentina was number 11.. I am more than positive she was 13, 14.. mark my words

I've not been a fan of the song, but it was definitely much much better than many of the other songs in the night. I am still of the opinion though, that for her to impress, to really be that special something, she should have sung in her genre, jazz, in that case I guess she would have had the juries with her. Still, last night has been weird with all the results, I guess singing at the beginning made the song being forgotten.

San Marino would've qualified with a later draw, I'm pretty sure. In a semi so wishy-washy a lot of it was down to the draw.

If you managed to forget Romania after the voting, for example, I would be surprised.

Me too^... I cried and ate half liter of chocolate icecream I found in the freezer xcry1 didn't feel any better...
Supporting Valentina for past few months, getting to know more and more about her and her life that made me so attached to her and this song, that I just can't cope with the fact it's stupid Eurovison with all it bad sides and inpredictibility, can't be not emotional after all this time... xcry1

Thank you Valentina for everything.
We will xheart you no matter what.

Like I said with Cyprus. The song is for us to stay, treasure and remember.

I felt like crying. There were others in the room though. I just put my head in my hands. I think everyone could tell I was devastated at the fact i'd just lost all my favourites except one.

You're right though. We come close to these people we haven't even met. We learn about them as people and we have them in our hearts. Valentina's journey has been very long.. Everyone laughed at her last year and (although I always loved her) I too laughed (mainly at the joke as I got the song). This effected Valentina really badly though. I knew from following her pretty quickly that there was more to Valentina than this song she'd bravely took the task of singing last moment. I knew from her voice and from delving into her jazz music this was a seriously special girl. Everyone was so excited and behind Valentina this year. The transformation and turnaround in opinion of her was just glorious. We were all flying with her over the months. Her not reaching the final.. it's a devastating blow and one I always feared.

But her music will live on and as you say, we will love her no matter what. I hope she's not too upset. Something tells me she isn't as our Valentina is strong and a fighter. I think she's well aware just how much she's loved by us hardcore fans and how much we appreciate her. I know Matt and the team made her well aware:p

Well Bjorkman gave her #2 in the draw so obviously she didn't have the host on her side like some others did (coughNetherlandscough). Not to mention that horrific camera work. If it was just her I would blame the San Marino delegation but it happened to so many that weren't favored either so that's another wave she was against.

Strangely San Marino was the only big favorite that flopped and that confuses me. I mean didn't it finish 3rd in the backstage press/fan voting? How can it go from 3rd in rehearsal voting and 11th(?) in overall betting to pretty much flopping? xthink I think it was also the only big fanboy favorite that didn't get the extra manufactured hype and pimping from the host either. xshrug

*Conspiracy Theory Alert*
It almost felt like they decided to sacrifice it so they can show the public that their not being corrupt and nothing fishy is happening behind the curtain. And since San Marino is pretty small and not a power house with a big history they thought it was the perfect country to use. But they seem to be failing at that miserably in every other way so I'm probably wrong.

I'm so so sad for Valentina's fail :( The song 100% deserved being in the final. But unfortunally it didn't work last night. Dissapointment for me :(

Dunno if this have been posted earlier, but i'll try anyways. This is a site with different jury-votes and San Marino was apparantly on the 5th place of the list. Quite impressive, but means nothing now.
A shame isn't it?

It's still fun to read others opinion so this could be interesting to some people!

EUROVISION Jury Votes 2013 (unofficial)

One gave it a 10/10 and wrote:

"Well who would have thought it? After last year's joke entry, Valentina is back again this year and her entry couldn't be more different if she tried. Some gorgeous vocals on this track, the switch into uptempo works really well and the lyrics are beautiful. I really hope they can finally qualify as they truly deserve it based on this song. This has shot to the top of my list, and I'm thinking of buying a San Marinese flag to fly in Malmö!"

So Valentina is the first singer that failed to qualify twice for a final! It was nice (looked and sound nice), but it took forever to reach the upbeat part. Would have been happy for San Marino if it qualified, but Malta did instead.

Well, well, well. Another place that have the entry bad robbly.
Since that Montenegro flops in the first semi, I've doubt of the power of Crisalide.

Sad about San Marino. Now they have to withdraw or wait 9 years for qualifying as Netherlands did. Maybe there wasn't anything new. Every year we can see how some good song not qualifying in spite of high chances and support. Last year it's happened with Slovenia, Eva Botto with her wonderful song. Well, Kate Ryan nomination still is and actual.

I'm so sad for this but I saw it coming. I was sure :sm: wouldn't qualify so I was prepared. And the truth is that it didn't stand out last night. This semi was full of very different songs (many of them bad but memorable), what to remember and what to forget? Given the bad starting point (#2) and that it lacked something in the performance (not the vocals, they were very good IMO). By watching the recap after all the songs, I was sure it wouldn't qualify. It's still a shame, though. :(

I don't think they'll withdraw, though. They participated only few times. "Crisalide" wasn't the masterpiece of the century and for me it wasn't a shock it didn't qualify (although I personally love it). Next year they'll be in, trust me ;)
