You are being too polite and too nice by mentioning only Malta and Norway from the list of crimes against humanity xrofl3

*snort* xjumplol You guys are funny! But I agree. Some songs you forgot to mention! We should put them on a black list. :D

Well, that's dull. I can see the shitstorm, when Russia will end up in the bottom half. The will acuse the rest of europe of being haters of disabled people. But they are just haters of bad music.

Knew I wasn't going to like this, even though they had two years to come up with something outstanding. At least it's not a cheesy peace ballad.

I am surprised how much hate it gets from Russians. Maybe it won't qualify after all.

But Melovin didn't get 8000 dislikes from Ukrainians in 4h and terrible comments under YouTube video.

Dislikes by Russians have little to do with song and Yulia per se. The main problem is that Russians are in frenzy just like Westerners are. They want to show the best of their country, bla bla bla bla. What they do not see is that whoever decided to pick Yulia and send her to ESC was actually very smart, cuz Yulia represent that humane side of society, the vulnerable side, an individual who doesn't care much about politics and opinions, as people like she are faced with real struggle on daily basis. So, my opinion is that Russians are just overreacting because they do not know, or better said, they disagree on how to present themselves the best possible way to the West. Secondly, this disapproval that Yulia is getting from Russians actually shows that people with disadvantages have to deal with many issues - not only in Russia, but elsewhere too. I think that her participation will hopefully at least start the discussions and debates about people with disadvantages in Russia and help others like her to improve the quality of their lives.

This is my opinion, maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm not. However that may be, I know that Yulia will destroy haters with her big smile ;)

I actually like this entry. Especially because Russia is not trying too hard this time. Last year, their preview video was all about the fact that she's in a wheelchair, the entire scheme was cruel, they literally used Yulia to ignore getting booed. The song was melancholic too.

This time, Yulia's entry is modern and beautiful. The video doesn't even give a hint about her condition. If I wouldn't know about the wheelchair, I wouldn't guess it from the preview video. The music video is well done and visually awesome. It seems like Yulia is enjoying it a lot, and so will Europe. Nothing wrong with this entry or the song. 8 points. :)

Or maybe, just maybe, it's as simple as them not liking the entry xshrug

This is not a personality contest or some Idol show, response could very well be against the chosen song, not against her personally...

I was reading some of the comments, the negative comments were many times expressing the idea that Russia should have sent Polina again and similar. But of course, some of them honestly did not dislike the song, of course, it is true. On the other hand, I also agree with you and your claim that it is nothing personal. In fact, if you read my comment once again, this is exactly what I was claiming. There are many possible explanations for their disapproval of Yulia, and I've suggested only one, two, or three possible causes. So, yeah, I agree with you on both accounts! :geek:

Chours reminds me a little bit electro style of some t.A.T.u.'s songs. It's changed to current times, but I can hear t.A.T.u. vibes in here... ohh, I miss Tatu Girls so much. :D

THE GOOD:
-It's better than last year's entry, which isn't really saying much.
-She's got decent-to-good vocals, I'll give her that.

THE BAD:
-It's repetitive.
-It's kinda boring, overall.

THE VERDICT:
I feel like this entry will be lost in the crowd, or it would be if it wasn't the Russian entry. Thank goodness it isn't last year's entry with a fresh coat of paint. If this song doesn't make the Final, it'll be because it didn't stand out. 7 points

Oh, she will stand out. If nothing else, she will be always introduced as the singer whom Ukrainians banned from participating in ESC last year. And then they will see she is in wheelchair, because of which people who do not follow ESC closely will ask themselves: What threat is this girl to Ukrainians or us? So, she will be remembered. Plus, add to this story a nice song, and she will score a lot of points :)
