Re: RUSSIA 2018 - Yulia Samoylova

Would you also find that funny, if it said "Slovenia" instead of "Ukraine"? Honestly - this is a strange kind of humor, but obviously tastes are different. Enjoy!

My giphy was for the grotesque drawing/pic of Yulia on top of tank. It was bizzare, as all the fuss last year because of which she was prevented to sing in Ukraine. So, please, no need for drama here. As for Ukraine and Ukrainians, I don't care. They've made their choices. So, they should accept the good and bad that comes along with these choices. :)

Ahm, I am not really sure why everyone is bothered by her singing. After all, she is suffering from muscular atrophy, so I think that her singing is not that bad for a person of her condition. Moreover, her accent is not only a product of the fact she is a Russian native speaker, but also of her condition. Is she a weak singer? Yes, if you judge her by the standards that we use for a healthy person. But if you consider her illness, I think that her singing is actually quite decent. In the end, I agree with you 100%, the melody was great.

She is million times better singer than Benjamin or Robin Bengtson from Sweden

Well, yeah, you are right. Thanks for being more precise than I was. When I talked about Yulia and comparing her to singers, I surely wasn't talking about "wannabe" singers

No offense guys

(I saw what you wrote above)

The Azeri lyrics promise is still etched on my mind, I kinda hope that she'll be eager suddendly to perform some parts of the songs in this marvellous language during the SF1. xrofl3

Maybe its folk ballad in which Yulia is princess

I bet it won't sound the same as Flame is Burning. The latter wasn't about her life but about hope (which is kinda relevant though). I see her song being marked by a powerful bridge along with a very strong first verse in the same way as Polina did sing.

I had the feeling that her next ESC entry will be World peace song + a copy from her first ESC attempt!

That's actually a powerful ballad about her life somehow. (quoting Scooby)
