I was sure that this was gonna qualify. It was the strangest performance of the night. Good or bad, it certainly made an impact...

yes, it was something memorable, a performance you would always remember. Some love the concept, it was like a theater piece, many others hate the song (it's true is a mediocre song), but hatred is better than indifference.

Will all my huge respect to all Romanian users of this forum and my friends - the song of Cezar is crap of me. I can't understand how this song qualified to the final. Just suppose that :ro: got high points from jury for his countertenor and also got a gay support in televoting

Why a gay support?? :|
Maybe I find out that I'm straight after ESC!

Cezar just said on a Romanian TV show he couldn't hear anything in the earphone and sang everything acapella, hearing the echo from the hall, which is quite extraordinary do be able to. That's why he was a little out of rhythm in the second part. Just like it happened to Mandinga...copy - paste. I still can't believe history's repeating.

He also said that the extravagant dressing (baroque style and even dresses) is something he is used to in the opera world, which is also kind of a theatrical performance. But people who never once went to opera of course don't get it...

Wow that is literally INCREDIBLE for him to do something like that. Theres one for anyone doubting his vocal abilities.

I noticed the timing was a smidgen off as well and I knew it was something to do with the dreadful sound a lot of the acts are suffering with. I know Lozano of Macedonia was having problems and last night it was obvious once more. For Cezar to not even be able to hear the music yet still give such a magnificent vocal.. well outstanding. What a guy!!!xyes

And yes the style of clothing is part of the opera world. It's a shame so, so many people don't "get" Cezar but it's the biggest pleasure ever i'm having "getting" him.

I've been to opera and I've never seen anyone dressed like Dracula ;)

I'm talking about being dressed in extravagant clothes, symbolic to something, to a character, to a historical period, to a feeling, to a state of mind. He said his dressing could suggest anything the viewer wants, Dracula, an emperor, a God or the Devil, etc. Anyway, it's a mixture of glamour and darkness, good and evil and the message is that in the end love is born and love prevails. At least that's how I see it, but that's the beauty of it. Everyone can interpret the show in different ways.

To me it definitely reminded me of some dark master of wizardry or something

It seems people on this forum are rather unaware of how much attention this is getting.

I check many different forums, which doesn't usually discuss the ESC at all, and i checked several chats during and right after the semi. People who wouldn't normally give a damn, was passing this around like "OMG you got to see this crazy Romanian Dubstep Dracula! Whoa, we got to make this guy win!"

This is something i haven't seen since the days of Lordi, and to a lesser extent Lena. This entry is capturing the attention of people who don't follow the ESC otherwise. Somehow it's hitting all the right buttons with all these people, who don't usually care. They're going to watch the finals, and vote for Romania!

Unless one of the big favorites can gather up enough votes to beat him, this is THE WINNER. Trust me!

^ That's what I try to say from a week ago. But poeple start to say that I'm not objective. Cezar can have Lordi effect, is the only entry that can beat Denmark this year.

Interesting facts:

Lordi was number 17 in the grand final.
Cezar is number 14 in the final.

A victory for Lordi gave 33 times the money.
A victory for Cezar gives 100 times the money.

Both were highly memorable. Both is seen as weird, spectacular, bizarre and ingenious. Lordi was seen as a Joke to the ESC, while Cezar is regarded as a Joke to the Opera-culture. Both stood out and leaves a WTF-impact.
Both could be accused for "trolling" the competition.

This is Denmark's year and I hope Emmelie wins it all. And a victory for Cezar is definitely way too optimistic. But a Top-5? Perhaps. It will either end up in the absolut bottom of the list or raise to the very top.

That would be REALLY interesting to see.

omg, how this crap qualified is beyond me.
there was a little part that i actually liked - the slow section, where his voice was able to rest on the note and build.
the rest of the song was painful squeaking.

To be honest I didn't think as bad of the song as before after watching the performance. Still bottom 6 for this I guess.

I strongly believe this'll end up in the televote top 10. Not sure about the juries, so it could be anywhere from 5th to 15th IMO. It will do much better than people expect (same with Armenia).
