Napa are in 1st place in Spotify's top 50 in Portugal, with 98 thousand listens. xscaredxclap

Yeah, that's not surprising, since the song has the most airplay potential (by Portuguese standards). I'm confident that, like Amar pelos Dois and Saudade, Saudade, this will get a lot of radio airplay, while Ai Coração and Grito didn’t, for example.

The main issue this year wasn’t Napa winning, everyone knew that was a possibility from the start. In fact, even they received lower scores than expected maybe. The real problem was the randomness in the jury voting. RTP should really focus on addressing this, while maintaining the work they’re doing. The festival was fantastic this year.

Napa already addressed the controversy this afternoon on RTP’s afternoon show, and they handled it with real grace.

The song is actually growing on me. I just hope they were able to work on the staging properly.

RTP needs to invest some money this year. It is mandatory... well, they did very well last in 2021 and 2022.
Albuquerque should give some thousands of euros. They deserve it.

Yes, totally agree. It's because of this randomness that I wrote to the RTP Provider.

NAPA is not to blame for anything and unfortunately people don't know how to distinguish this

Just wrote to them!

Basically just told them about this year’s voting system that raised serious fairness issues. The Madeira jury implied their 12 points to NAPA were influenced by regionalism, undermining impartiality. Also suggested that a fairer system would distribute public vote points based on call percentages. Suggested that an international jury should be added for fairness, as Eurovision is an international contest.

Today I feel more calmer. I know I vented a lot of hate to Napa which I'm sorry for that. The public placed them top 2, it is what it is. I just felt we had so better options that could keep our qualification streak and a great final result. Also, I was SO angry with the voting and national jury. it is honestly so unfair. The system that the nords use is so much fair. If someone get 20% of the calls then they should get 20% of the total public votes and that is it. But knowing RTP I reaaaally doubt they will change anything. They don't even change the semi-finals tv hosts to make it more approachable! Hope I'm wrong, but I have zero hopes :/

The same as in our NF, my dear Portuguese friends! Just vice versa, 10 from audience, 7 from juries.. :)
And :12: from me in the poll, obviously...
Loved this amazing entry from the first time listening to it...

You made my Saturday night actually, I was in Stockholm Arena live for the MF final and obviously so disappointed by the winner there  that you made me so happy later when I learned that the one I loved won...

If Diana won, the mark would be the same, maybe only better position for Portugal on my overall 2025 ESC list..
Now you are my no6! xlove xheart

Fernando Ribeiro, vocalist of the most famous metal portuguese band Moonspell, praised Henka in her instagram, saying that he voted for her. He also trashed the juries calling them bias. He actually received invitations from the RTP to participate but says that he would never acepted because of the unfairness.

After the final there was a press conference with Gonçalo Madail where he addresses the criticts of bias and nepotism voting claiming he doesn't feel there's a problem...

Yeah... I'm not seeing anything changing except getting more and more classical, jazzy and safe entries because pop/alternative artist will lose interest.

20 Margarida Campello's song incoming, fun.

Napa reached 110,319 streams on Spotify yesterday. It remains in 1st place on the daily Top 50 of Spotify PT, with more than +- 37,000 streams ahead of the 2nd place (funk song...)

This is incredible! First, because our charts are almost always dominated by Brazilian funk or Portuguese hip-hop. And surpassing funk songs is extremely difficult.

I don’t remember seeing anything more indie, whether Portuguese rock or pop, making it to the charts. But Napa did it – for two days in a row!xxclap

Guess what? I'm in the minority here from what I can read.

I've read all your comments and I'm following the controversies that happened on Saturday night and with some comments on social media and YouTube (actually, I'm trying to ignore them now, since most of those comments are cheap and irrelevant to the cause).

Maybe I'm a peaceful guy, but the things being said are too dramatic, and the people who least deserve to hear what the PORTUGUESE are writing everywhere are Napa: “I'm not supporting my country, this is not my winner” - this cheap and easy criticism is something I hate to see, and it's becoming more and more used, I guess these are the new times.
For example, people have to get out of their privileged thinking and have some empathy, although it wasn't your winner, it was some people's winner, otherwise, it wouldn't have received 10 points from the public, and I don't think it was just a religious vote, I'm from Lisbon and I know a lot of people who aren't Eurovision fans and who love Napa, just like me.

If I had to choose, I'd go for Cotovia, but Napa were my second choice, I love their vibe, their song and, musically speaking, I think they're very special and will stand out in this year's line-up, which is too loud for people who like to connect and listen to good music.

So Napa, you have, with honor my :12: points. I hope you can turn your staging as magical as your song.

The Portuguese national final, Festival da Canção 2025 Final, took place on Saturday 8 March 2025. Here is my video, containing my opinions on all twelve finalist songs, in order of performance (based on Festival da Canção 2025 Final performances), and my ranking from twelfth to first in My Eurovision Scoreboard.

I know that they see the current system as a way to, basically, prevent another Homens da Luta or another Suzy from winnning the contest. Someone that, for a reason or another, can get a lot of support from the public but that may not be the best option for Portugal, but the thing is that they open the televote 5 days before the final. They want people to vote from day one, because if you vote 25 times on monday, you can vote 25 days on tuesday and so on... They basically want people to vote en masse but do not want to make the televote proportional. They can't have their cake and eat it too.
They either make the televote proportional and make things fair to those that spend their money voting or they keep the current top 10 system and only open the televote in the final after the last song performed.

The backlash to this song winning FdC has been incomprehensible to me and I say that as someone who wanted Henka to win.

Once again Portugal goes it's own way and delivers something authentic and beautiful that scratches an itch that no other nation in Eurovision ever comes close to doing for me

I hate living in cities and have done in many times out of necessity so this song speaks to me in a way that no other does this year, it's very quickly climbed into third place for me this year.

:12: never change Portugal

I'd be lying to say I wasn't absolutely gutted Diana Vilarinho didn't win after getting the 12 from the jury vote. Even more so that she was 0.07% away which was less than 70 votes  from Bombazine (5th in the tele-vote) which would've given her 18 points and the win.

Nonetheless but congrats to NAPA on their victory. There were at least 5 better songs in the selection but this isn't a bad choice at all. I do think this can qualify provided they make it known what the heartfelt lyrics returning from the city back home are about. Maybe a small LED with the Madeira island on it or something.

It only needs to beat 5 other songs to qualify so I can see The Black Mamba or Filipa Azevedo situation (songs that weren't received well by the Portuguese public at first) but ended up making the final and getting better than expected results. Also just on personal taste I prefer Deslocado much more than Love Is On My Side.

I'm starting to warm up to this a bit since I've been watching tons of TikToks of expats in another country (not necessarily Portuguese-speakers) using the song and its meaning. Upgrading to a :5:

Have to say the semi results are quite shocking.

Semi 1

Just 3 points separating 1st to 8th!

Margarda Campelo winning semifinal 1. (due to the jury tiebreaker rule for the semis) Bluay finishing 2nd. 👀

Marco Rodrigues winning the tele-vote in the first round. 😵‍💫

So it turned out JOSH was never actually contender. Only fifth with the public in his semi and 5th overall. If that tele-vote rule tiebreaker for the final had been in place Peculiar would've actually got the 5th spot.

Poor Xico Gaiato and Capital Da Bulgária :( They were very close to making it.

GlrX7r1aoAAc5Su

Semi 2

A little more spread out but NAPA getting almost a quarter of the vote. By far the largest percentage across the semis in the first round of voting. ;)

Nice to see the juries appreciate and recognize the quality of Diana Vilarinho so much in both shows. hred

The way Fernando Daniel only got 3 points with the juries in his semi was not expected. Maybe it wasn't just the Azores regional jury that disliked his song. Emmy Curl the opposite flopping in the tele-vote wasn't entirely unsurprising.

A Cantadeira in last place is a complete robbery. IOTAP
