I just finished the 20 songs. Ok, this lineup has the potential to be the best since 2017.
Fernando Daniel has the most commercial song and potential for Eurovision. He is a tremendous live singer.
Later on, I will post my top 20 with comments. However, qualification in Basel is much closer now.

Fernando Daniel vocal powers will be one of the strong points in this song.

He was committed to trying to bring something to Eurovision, it seemed to me.

There are more unique songs.
But Fernando Daniel seems like a safe choice (even though he probably shouldn't be my favorite)

I want to listen to everything again, and later I'll post my top 20.

But there are at least 7 or 8 songs that I really like!

So we today got Emmy in Ireland which is the WORST song of the season, but now as a prize we got Henka which is the BEST so far (by miles). Love this year FdC with my whole black heart. hblack

It is a song to grow with the live performance. In my point of view, a lock Q. Even without a draw and not so much competition known.

I just listened to the songs and the only one I stopped to listen to and was floored after listening was JOSH with "Tristeza".
It is a bit of a repeat of "Grito", but it is a very strong song even if you don't understand what he is saying and I say this because I was focused mostly on the instrumental and don't remember what he actually said.

My other option would be HENKA, the song is good and it will live or die depending on how it will be staged, but there's a lot of potential, I just hope RTP does not botch whatever she has been working on.

My, let's say, third place, would be Peculiar, his song is really great but it is in the same boat as HENKA, it will depend on how it will be staged, but I don't think it will be a good option for Eurovision.

Overall I think it's a okay selection, I had hoped for more variety and for some reason there are like 3 songs with filler lyrics, like olarilolé or laliloré, and a bit to much unnecessary politics, Capital da Bulgária(regarding how rents in Lisbon), Tota(AI technology) and Luca Argel(with a pro brazilian migration song that will eventually dominate the entire discourse around this years festival da canção and that may end up on certain political parties demanting RTP to withdraw from the contest if he ends up winning).

Regarding Fernando Daniel I think it's boring, nq for certain if it goes to eurovision…

JOSH is also my fave with Capital de Bulgaria as my 2nd and emmy curl and Peculiar as my joint 3rd.

For me Henka is decent but the lyrics are quite bad honestly, also don't think it will work live.

And as you said F. Daniel is boring and generic but good for Portuguese radio I guess, it isn't a bad song.

Just listened to the recap.

The songs that stood out to me were Cotovia, Apago Tudo and maybe Quantos Queres too.

Listened to half of the songs so far and I can already say that FdC is this year even better than the past ones! Well done, I will continue listening and tell my faves later ...!

Wow. I like so many songs that it is even hard to pick just a few. My top 3 for now (need to relisten to the songs again, so my first impression):
Henka
emma Curl
Josh

Really fantastic selection, so far the best NF from this season. Thank you, Portugal! ❤️❤️❤️

Josh xlove or Xico Gaiato as a backup.
Henka is meh. Nothing surprising for me or new. Though, Ukrainians can like her because it's similar to the Hardkiss, but the song itself could be much better.

1️⃣ HENKA – I Wanna Destroy U 🔟/🔟 (absolutely made my Top2 of '25 with HDS from estonian wildcard round)
2️⃣ A Cantadeira – Responso à Mulher 8️⃣/🔟 (magic, if chosen my Top10 material for sure)
3️⃣ Diana Vilarinho – Cotovia 7️⃣/🔟 (note only slighly below 8, like 7,5 - still gold)
4️⃣ Peculiar – Adamastor 7️⃣/🔟 (rly good with a little pinch of smth that keeps it in my top)
5️⃣ Xico Galato – Ai Senhor! 6️⃣/🔟
6️⃣ Du Nothin – Sobre Nós 6️⃣/🔟
7️⃣ Emmy Curl – Rapsódia da Paz 5️⃣/🔟 (would be better if not few moments that are ruining it for me)
8️⃣ Rita Sampaio – Voltas 5️⃣/🔟
9️⃣ NAPA – Deslocado 5️⃣/🔟
1️⃣0️⃣ JOSH – Tristeza 5️⃣/🔟
1️⃣1️⃣ Fernando Daniel – Medo 5️⃣/🔟
1️⃣2️⃣ Inês Marques Lucas – Quantos Queres 4️⃣/🔟
1️⃣3️⃣ TOTA – á-tê-xis 4️⃣/🔟
1️⃣4️⃣ Capital da Bulgária – Lisboa 4️⃣/🔟
1️⃣5️⃣ Marco Rodrigues – A Minha Casa 3️⃣/🔟
1️⃣6️⃣ Bluay – Ninguém 3️⃣/🔟
1️⃣7️⃣ Jéssica Pina – Calafrio 3️⃣/🔟
(all above r really decent songs, some better some worse - these 3 below r not fitting into my style & despite low marks they r not disaster)
1️⃣8️⃣ Bombazine – Apago tudo 2️⃣/🔟
1️⃣9️⃣ Luca Argel feat. Pri Azevedo – Quem foi? 2️⃣/🔟
2️⃣0️⃣ Margarida Campelo – Eu sei que o amor 1️⃣/🔟

My GOSH! 😱
I started with the playlist as it is on yt, first 4 songs, I really loved 2 of them, but then, my fu*kin' God, 5th one, JOSH - "Tristeza", Im still shaking after this experience, no, no, I can't describe this, I had to make a longer break to recover from this "earthquake", thus came here to comment even if I didn't plan to do so before the whole playlist is done..
I got goosebumps all over my body, and inside of my soul, it was like a volcano of emotions... Im shaking, I cant believe this is happening, think I need some help.. 🥶😵‍💫🥹

Okay, I'll make the ranking per semi.

SEMIFINAL 1

1. JOSH 10/10 -:cry::cry: I'm still under impression, I think I will need some currage to experience this once again.

2. Capital da Bulgaria 10/10 - okay, I lowkey expected this will be awesome and yes, this is AWESOME ❤️

3. Bluay 10/10 - this is among those current FdC entries, but yet so different and unique, especially for ESC, this would be such a fresh sound, of course if the live is good

4. Du Nothin 8/10

5. Marco Rodrigues 6/10

6. Jessica Pina 6/10
----------------------------------------------
7. Xico Gaiato 5/10

8. Peculiar 5/10

9. Margarida Campelo 5/10

10. Rita Sampaio 4/10

Henka is amazing. This might be my new favorite FDC song ever, or at the very least it's on par with "Rebellion". Coincidentally of the similar genre :sneaky:

There's always a place in my top 10 for a song like this, but i can envision a universe where this song goes further than that x12points

1-Henka "I Wanna Destroy U"
2-A Cantadeira "Responso à mulher"
3-Emmy Curl "Rapsódia da paz"

For now i can only hope there's no candidate that can be considered a serious threat for Henka. (I sure can't tell , but she is the front-runner, right?

RIGHT? xlisa

From this point, it should be between Henka, Fernando Daniel and Josh.
