Same, kinda baffled that it has so low views on youtube at the moment.I am getting really hyped for Mimicat!!! Such an amazing song. Really portuguese, really energetic.
Quite a nice selection this year. To me, it's actually the second semi which is stronger, although my winner is from the first.

I mean she's only behind Bárbara Tinoco, Cláudia Pascoal, Ivandro and Edmundo Inácio, 3 of the 4 being household names. She's not doing bad at all.Same, kinda baffled that it has so low views on youtube at the moment.
Hoping that she leans into the theatricality of the song and presents a fun and energetic staging.
It rose to the 4th most viewed on youtube with 69k views, below Cláudia Pascoal(70k), Edmundo Inácio(80k) & Bárbara Tinoco(79k).I mean she's only behind Bárbara Tinoco, Cláudia Pascoal, Ivandro and Edmundo Inácio, 3 of the 4 being household names. She's not doing bad at all.
The views overall have been kinda disappointing though, usually Festival da Canção's videos dominate the trends on Youtube but that didn't happen this year. Hopefully the hype for the songs will grow after the semi-finals.
Too bad that the 50% that are the song not that good...Mimicat is preparing the choreography for the live shows. There will be two dancers as well. And the stage/dress will be red.
April Ivy just told on instagram that her staging project has started last August. Apart from that, she really has the real Eurovision sense. She thinks that 50% of the whole concept is the song and the remain is dedicated to the staging.
Just saw a comment in Mimicat's video that pointed out something curious, that there seems to be a pattern in who has won Festival da Canção since 2017.
In every odd year the winner was a male with long hair and facial hair(Salvador Sobral, Conan Osiris and Tatanka, the singer of Black Mamba) and in every even year the winner where women singing together(Cláudia Pascoal & Isaura, Elisa & Marta Carvalho and Maro and her girls).
So if the pattern repeats itself this year again the winner is going to be Edmundo Inácio, with Bandua being another possibility, although in Bandua's case it isn't the singer, Edgar Valente, that has long hair.
The front-runners seem to be Edmundo and Mimicat. But I have a feeling Ivandro will take it all in the end. If that happens, hope Mimcat's fans (who are the most hardcore this year lol) won't take it too bad.Mimicat gas reached the first place of most viewed song on youtube, the current top 5 is:
1. Mimicat - 143k views
2. Edmundo Inácio - 142k views
3. Bárbara Tinoco - 115k views
4. Cláudia Pascoal - 105k views
5. Ivandro - 103k views
There's has been a lot of hype around Mimicat in the last weeks and her video is the one with more engagement, being the one with more likes and views, but Ivandro could be a dark horse, he has the second most liked video of the nf and his song his the most listened on spotify, with the top 5 being:
1. Ivandro - 36k listens
2. Bárbara Tinoco - 21k listens
3. Cláudia Pascoal - 20k listens
4. Mimicat - 18k listens
5. Edmundo Inácio - 13k listens
Considering that the portuguese judges are usually kinda random in who they vote for, this year it's going to be hard to predict who will win.
