Ok, this is the part where I get on my knees and beg.
*clicks fingers*
Please Portugal. Send Catarina. I didn't think that "Para Sorrir Eu Não Preciso de Nada" would be my favourite as I started watching it but I became fixated with the way Catarina was feeling the song. I was getting so into it that I was kind of shocked when it ended. The 3 minutes went so fast, structured "Suus" style with that one very long verse followed by two choruses. I love the sweetness of the melody coupled with the tender aching beauty of the vocals, and that surprise change of key in the closing line. The song is doing everything right for me. I adore it.
:? Simple and touching. Diogo was and is the best choice. I hope Portugal will do a good job in the final, not letting the banana guy win over this little moving pearl.

Yeah! I rather have Diogo than Janeiro. Diogo gave me goosebumps!
But I reaaaaally like “All over again” and “Voo das cegonhas”
I hope one of this wins. Or “Jardim”
How could Piçarra's litle snippet give anyone's goosebumps? It's just some basic notes sung slowly. I expect it might build from there, but atm i don't see anything in it... Hope people don't just get star struck and forget their own ears...
Earlier today, RTP revealed that there was a mix-up with the distribution of televotes.
On the night, Beatriz Pessoa and her song “Eu Te Amo” received seven points from the public watching at home. This was enough for her to rank among the qualifiers. However, it now transpires she should have gotten no televote points.
The seven points were actually intended for Maria Amaral and “A Mesma Canção”, one of the non-qualifiers.
The broadcaster was swift to rectify the mix-up. Without the seven points, Beatriz is no longer a finalist. The boost was not enough to push Maria into the final either. Instead that honour now goes to Rui David and “Sem Medo”, who retrospectively rises to seventh place in the semi rankings.

I see some criticism among Portuguese fans, in particular. The truth is that in my opinion FDC has improved a lot since last year. It was a complete disaster before that. I can't see how Janeiro e a copy of Salvador. The songs are completely different and they inspire me completely different things and feelings. A poor version of Salvador, someone said. I don't consider him a version at all. He's got his own style and the song doesn't resemble "Amar pelos dois" in any point. They simply belong to the same genre, maybe the singers have a similar personality, but that's it, imo.
I never read anywhere janeiro was a copy of Salvador, that would be plagiarism and of course quite unacceptable. It is, as you say, in the same genre which incidentally is not such a common one at that in this contest. Plus they share a strange similarity in their voices, even when they speak. Impossible to hear one and not think of the other, specially so in the present context of FdC or Eurovision. As it happens every year and regarding every winning song and country, it is never a good idea, nor it is even very elegant, to repeat the formula, or to appear to be resembling it somehow. - That being said, of course the song is totally different, I know. The instrumental for instance is simply like day and night.
