So for now Peu Madureira with "Só por ela" is the clear front-runner with 12 from the televote and 10 from the jury...
The rest is rather inconsistent

It wouldn't be that bad having him at eurovision. Hopefully sem-final two will be way better.

I guess so. Even though I think it's a quality entry and I respect it for that, it doesn't really appeal to me.

I heard semifinal 2 won't be as slow as the 1st one

I think Janeiro's televote will improve, given the hype it's getting on the internet. Still, the 12 televotes points in the final is almost surely going to Diogo Piçarra, unless his entry is really terrible

I'm happy with the results. And I agree that probably Janeiro's televote will be higher in the final. It will get a good momento in the next 2 weeks. Loved José Cid didn't make it!

I think that one of the problems with Janeiro's televote result has to do with the fact that the in recap clip you could barely hear the song! They chose the wrong part of the song, the guys says the telephone number is talking way to loud and the final seconds were you could hear the song where the least good part of the song... Just a thought...

I didn't vote as i felt quite indifferent to the outcome but really, I was overwhelmed by the public choice What was that about?

Not that the jury pick was that SO much better... Janeiro was one of the few who managed to create something of as atmosphere on stage but his song goes nowhere. Plus i would be horribly ashamed to go to eurovision as champions with a poor man's sequel of the champion himself.

I have litle idea whom I would choose if i was called to, but maybe song number 5 I guess? Praying hard soemething might come up on the 2nd half that enables us at least to save ours faces.

Bless RTP for choosing a diverse and younger jury this year and save us from the really bad taste of these fossils

For me was Joana Barra Vaz and Janeiro the absolute best in the semi. Both songs absolutely stunning. I can see though why Peu Madureira won the semi, he has an amazing voice and the song is very old school-eurovision in a nice way. But I can't see that one work in ESC. I think the best choice so far is Janeiro, his song feels both portuguese and modern enough to make a mark in Eurovision.

Ok, this is the part where I get on my knees and beg.

Please Portugal. Send Catarina. I didn't think that "Para Sorrir Eu Não Preciso de Nada" would be my favourite as I started watching it but I became fixated with the way Catarina was feeling the song. I was getting so into it that I was kind of shocked when it ended. The 3 minutes went so fast, structured "Suus" style with that one very long verse followed by two choruses. I love the sweetness of the melody coupled with the tender aching beauty of the vocals, and that surprise change of key in the closing line. The song is doing everything right for me. I adore it.

The other qualifiers were also good. In particular Joana Barra Vaz I thought was absolutely wonderful. Her song was reflective and sophisticated. I loved how organic it felt mixed with the lushness of the orchestra. The way she performed it was also endearing. I'm disappointed the public support was so low. I also thought Janeiro was possibly something special but need another listen to decide if his song was true love for me as much as the other two I mentioned.
