Looks like a female version of Jann - Gladiator. It's pretty good but not as strong as Gladiator. However vocals can only be better considering how atrocious Jann live vocals were. Also, very unpopular opinion and i might get some backlash for saying this but despite liking this song, it still gives me huge fanwank and fan flop vibes (vibes i didn't have with Gladiator so good sign for her and i hope it works in her favor).

No more Eurovisiom,.you mean.
TVP is the only Polish member of the EBU.
At the moment :) We can always have other broadcaster in EBU. More transparent, involved. Last years were sad joke in this matter, whether you like simple pop in English and shady deals or not.

Of course, maybe we would have to skip 2024, but I would bear that if it will change anything.

Work will resume as normal after they pass the new budget.
If it happens within the next 2 months, new TVP bosses can select the artist internally by the end of deadline. Or appoint The Voice winner. There's plenty of options to avoid withdrawal/fee.

Theoretically, the winter shows could be sponsored/pre-produced this year. No idea about Poland, but we used to have seasonal programming. Some winter shows could be funded by the budget from previous year. However, it's about current payments to TVP workers, so NF is probably not an option.

I've studied the situation a little bit more and damn, it's disgusting. Especially how PiS(s) behaves. There's no legal way where Tusk can fire Duda's propagandists from TVP. Duda is orban/putin-izing himself when it comes to public media thinking it's his private property. Compromise is impossible (just look at how Duda undermines Polish safety at the border). No matter what the government proposes, Duda will veto it. Tusk will not give money to TVP.
Eventually, they will have to found the new public broadcaster. The chances of Polish withdrawal in 2024 are very high.

Liquidation doesn´t mean the broadcaster is getting shut down, programming continues.
Yeah, you're right, of course but like @AlekS has already pointed out, the situation around TVP is more complicated and even slightly "dramatic".
It's not only about liquidation - it's a political game right now - nationalists even occupied TVP buildings. PiS/former TVP workers do not agree with the new governing party deciding on a new head of media/TVP. As a result, the new government decided to come up with a law concerning the new budget for 2024 but again, this law was not signed by the president (Duda) and therefore, the budget for TVP was not accepted. That's when Tusk and the liquidation came in (as a response).

This will be a political battle lasting for weeks (until either Tusk or Duda will give in but that's unlikely because TVP is a very important tool to control Polish citizens, imo and therefore, :pl: participation in Eurovision is indeed in danger.

Well, in this case I´m a bit more optimistic than you. There can always be an internal selection, maybe even Bejba 2.0 even if this would be a nightmare for me.

But the question is not if it's going to be a NF or an internal selection but whether they (Duda/Tusk) find a solution to keep TVP on operating or not. It's not unlikely that they have to shut it down and create a new broadcaster.

If they have to found a new broadcaster, I believe that it will be too late to become an EBU member and surely, Eurovision wouldn't be their first priority.

I think in 2013 the Greek broadcaster was shut down but :gr: could still participate due to an permission of the EBU with a temporary broadcaster. Maybe this could work here as well??

Interesting, while ESC aims to be apolitical but it's when country's political situation undermines the country's participation. Seems like ESC 2024 is beginning with a rocky start despite having Luxembourg back in the game.

Like the saying goes, "If it's not one thing, it's another."

I think it was a one-off rather than a precedent.

Jeez thats scary. Its not just Poland though, there is an assault on free press and media right across the world, even here. Hopefully the new government prevails. I want Poland in Malmo, but it feels kinda unimportant at this stage
