COMPETING THEMES (177)

1. All Around The World: a real-world country is chosen by the host. All artists competing in this event must be from the chosen country. In the case of groups, the majority of people in the group must be from the country. The song can be in any language.

2. AATW type of Spinoff but with NSC nations

3. AI Cover Spinoff

4. Covers & Remixes 5: everyone has to send cover or remixed version of a song previously entered in the main contest, including the original versions of songs whose covers or remixes were entered in NSC.

5. Major/Minor: songs changed from major into minor key (and vice versa)

6. NSC ESC Classic: any entry from any year allowed

7. NSC NF

8. Oldies: tba, the host can decide the timeframe

I'll open a thread about the Winner Elimination Contest soon.
Basically a one vs one tournament with all 128 winners; not a spinoff, just another side contest like the Country Elimination Contests we had in the past.
I think I'll add a system where you can confirm to represent your 4 or 5 favourite/own winners, so that there's at least some interaction with the players

Woops, bit of a backlog here. Sorry, I'd been waiting to see what Anselm was doing with this Baking thing to see if it was actually going to be a song contest or just some random baking thing.

I've OKed Romeo's idea, so that can do as an event. I'll put up a proper poll as soon as I can get the previous one deleted. If people couldn't suggest joke ideas and fill the suggestions with bizarre stuff no one would even enter, that'd be great.

So a poll is up. Kinda exceptional circumstances here, the host of whatever suggestion wins here can choose to host straight away or wait until after Baking. The shambles that was the last selection means the one Romeo is hosting will just take place outside of the regular schedule, but still be considered official. So there's 4 days to vote in this one. Your votes will be appreciated.

Just to say that now 'Celebrate NSC' is ongoing, I've retracted my -75% idea cuz there's too much similarity (I'll bring it up again sometime though when I next feel annoyed about this archaic system)

In the meantime I have two new suggestions:
JNSC : Actually one of the first spinoffs ever suggested ever, but ppl hated on JESC (Eh I guess they still do). Anyway, with JESC fast approaching, this spinoff is finally a chance to send those JESC songs which are illegal everywhere else. The spinoff could also be opened to other songs by under-16s #FrontsideOllie

Oldies Around the World: Originally conceived as an idea which combines our two original recurring spinoffs. Basically each nation represents a country and sends a pre-1990 song from there. One song per country, and boring world hits from and are OUT! :twisted:

Although I would've voted for Halloween, having a Halloween spinoff in mid-November seems lame. Maybe in April or October...

I like Christmas songs during summer, so why don't have Halloween in April.
