1. All Around The World: a real-world country is chosen by the host. All artists competing in this event must be from the chosen country. In the case of groups, the majority of people in the group must be from the country. The song can be in any language.

2. AATW type of Spinoff but with NSC nations

3. AI Cover Spinoff

4. Covers & Remixes 5: everyone has to send cover or remixed version of a song previously entered in the main contest, including the original versions of songs whose covers or remixes were entered in NSC.

5. Major/Minor: songs changed from major into minor key (and vice versa)

6. NSC ESC Classic: any entry from any year allowed

7. NSC NF

8. Oldies: tba, the host can decide the timeframe

Hmm....would people object to ESC 2015 immediately following the Unfair Host, then Congrats 12 immediately after that, then back to regular poll choosing? Also ESC Karaoke could take part during those spin offs too.

I know the Karaoke spinoff's confirmation has already opened, and I don't really mind too much anyway xP....
But just to say, if it were me, I would've pushed for normal NSC ESC 2015 first (after Congrats), then Karaoke later, perhaps even after another spinoff in between.
My reason for this is that, as a dirty casual, I don't really know the ESC songs well at all in any year until after the actual TV show airs. BUT after that, while some people get PED, there is also the PEO (Post Eurovision Obsession), at which point I would be more than happy to send in a karaoke now I know the songs better.

Just my two cents, sorry for not mentioning it sooner. In any case, this year I have exams right after this year's ESC, so from my personal perspective I probably wouldn't enter the spinoff in those weeks anyway. But maybe in future years this could be the plan so as not to overload two spinoffs in a row with the same ESC songs? (And also having the double advantage of turning Karaoke into a PED cure )

I agree with this, though I think we'd still want to swap Karaoke and ESC 2015... I mean, the whole point of the normal ESC spinoff is to make a sort of NSC poll about the upcoming contest; I can't see people being particularly keen on it happening afterwards. Karaoke on the other hand I think would make perfect sense there.

Of course, I don't want to put detriment on what Anselm's started, especially if these upcoming weeks are the only time he can host! But the reason I posted was exactly because I was wondering how opening Karaoke now works for the upcoming spinoff schedule; I didn't see discussion or confirmation of it in this thread for example.

If I may make a suggestion, this is what I would propose:
*Keep Karaoke confirmation open now, but for a deadline after ESC, giving people time to make good recordings
*Open the NSC ESC 2015 spinoff now, as the next spinoff (~24 April - ~10 May)
*Then have the in-between themed spinoff ~10 May - ~24 May
*Have the ESC Karaoke spinoff after ESC (~24 May - ~7 June)

The big problem with this I can see is that it effectively swaps when David and Anselm were prepared to host, and it's already implied that David doesn't want to host until after exams, which is fair, so I guess this isn't ideal :\

Anyway, this is just my point of view, so it can be easily and happily ignored (esp as I won't even enter two of the spinoffs as I also have exams lach). But I do want to enter Karaoke, and I also think it makes much more sense to have NSC ESC before ESC itself, so I think it's important to invite a community decision on which spinoff is next...

Oh, I hurried up with karaoke because I automatically assumed we'd have both spinoffs before the rehearsals start since that's what we always do iirc. To me those spinoffs have always felt like a prelude to the actual contest in order to build excitement. So I don't think it would make a lot of sense to have them after ESC when everyone is busy analysing the results. But obviously everyone feels different about that.

Isn't this concept already covered by the Oldies spinoffs and/or the Ten (or some other number) Year Timewarp spinoff (that's arguably something different, but still closely related though)? Creating someting which is essentially Oldies, but further limited to one single year (instead of a decade or so) feels a bit pointless.
