Was probably really just too out there like Fulenn was. It also barely qualified... First time ever that my winner came last (but I generally didn't enjoy this year so there's also that).

But at least Norway can defend its record of most last places...? 🥲

Fulenn was awfully performed live. The vocals sounded nothing like in the studio version, I loved the studio cut but Fulenn live was a hot mess in every way. OTOH I liked what I saw and heard yesterday and in the SF from the Norwegian band but I think Gunnhild's vocals were not her best, she gave it all but she crossed the line into flat-out screaming territory which is fine just for some people (like me haha but I love stuff like hardcore punk and sludge metal for instance), I think she sounded better in the Norwegian NF.

So gutted for Norway.
Gåte you were amazing! I loved Ulveham since the beginning.
And this thing that juries hate Norway has to finish, Blanca Paloma last year finished half table with a less accessible package

To be fair, juries didn't kill this song, it wasn't succesfull with the televote either and it barely qualified from the semi.

It was a great song, but just too alternative to stand a chance apparently. Surprising to me, but yeah happens. They can go home and be proud of what they did. Many people will fondly remember the song.

I realize that Norway was close to fall in semi-final against Czechia. It looks unbelievable.

Exactly. Sometimes a risk pays off sometimes it doesn't!

Look they still qualified!

What are the reactions in  over last place??
Can almost guarantee it isn't the same level of crazy as we still endure in the UK. Olly came 18th, but because it was a 0 from the public, we still have to listen to the dross to do with Brexit and "Europe hates us" - hopefully Norway is not that level of crazy

Got what it deserved imo. Never liked it and that wailing is just annoying. Why would anyone like that? And the singer has no charisma at all.
It is an old scandinavian way of singing called kulning. So maybe some norwegians like myself wanted to send something that shows og a part of our cultural history, instead of pop music that could have been sent by any other country.

Most people i have heard from think it is not deserved, but they are explaining it by saying the entry was a bit niche, and with musikal aspects that is not exactly easy to sing along to, and maybe not a genre that has broad enough appeal.

Some people also speculate it might have gotten lost in all the controversy around Eurovision.

I have also heard from people who are embarased about sending something that is so norwegian and saying that of course no one would vote for that because they have this mentality that we should send music that is more 'international' since no other countries cares about norwegian traditions and culture anyway. The argument goes that many people loves for example everything french, but that there is not that many norwegiophiles out there.

They might have a point based on results, though other countries like armenia and Grecce did well with songs that are very ethnic, while Norway did not, so i do not think that this was the problem.

And some people say that this is good so we mantain our great record of having the most last places, we wouldn't want the germans or britts to catch us😅

I have not heard anyone saying everyone hates us, since no one thinks anyone cares enough about Norway to hate us, and also there is no one that has that big of a reason to hate us, exept maybe Israel, but they would probably hate others more. So no one thinks it is about politics or something similiar.

It's a silly thing to say. Norway wasn't in last place. Iceland was.

You're not last when you lose in a final.
True, though it will be last on the statistics. And of course if it is a big 5 country it is different. The point is still that people in Norway expected a better result. Though no one is spouting conspiracies or saying people hate us.

Will it be last on the statistics? That would be silly statistics. Maybe in the statistics of Grand Finals. But who cares really - other than the big 5, as you mention.

But I have seen even more foolish comments. Including the claim that it is better to not qualify for the final than to end up last in the final. That's simply nonsense.

In Norway it would been way worse if we did not qualify. People were way more upset in 2011 and 2016, that is for sure.

WTF happed with the voting for Norway neither Denmark nor Sweden gave Norway any points Its beound my comprihension
We even gave Denmmark 10!! undeserved(please dont take this too seriously🤣) points in the semi because of obvious bias. And then they don't give us anything in the final. Now we know what our neighbours do when we send authentic Norwegian music.

Of course people shouid vote for their favourite, but very odd that not more people in Denmark and Sweden voted for a song that should be familiar for them in terms of language and music traditions.

I think most people is happy that Israel not winning and people think we deserved better. People are still proud of Gåte and think they did a very good job. On the other side most people think our entry just was not good enough and maybe too norwegians? Still i don,t see many complain over that we not send Keiino. Is more like people accepted that other country was better and move on.

I think more people discussed that we gave Israel 8 jury points.

In the end this is not a big crisis for us. We have been so many times last in final and i think most people still are happy we get to final.

So everything is pretty ok in Norway. We are not happy, but is not like we talking about Europe hate us
