Re: LITHUANIA 2018

The 3 people that were talking about our selection's acts in this article were Miss Sheep (aka one of our tonight's jurors), Martynas Tyla (one of the biggest musician's managers in Lithuania, was behind such acts as Donny Montell, Sasha Son and Monika Linkytė) and Emilija Visockaitė (some music critic I'm not sure I've heard of).
Miss Sheep: she's afraid to comment on her faves directly because she's a juror and she'll have to judge objectively, and even if she feels that Ieva will be the tonight's favourite of many, she'd personally put her bet on The Roop. According to her, Ieva demonstrates to all the young girls how to not lose one's values and to do certain things. She's especially worried for the 3 young ladies in tonight's selection (while having had to criticize Paula for demonstrating her sexiness way too early in age). Paula still needs training eventhough people support her, Kotryna knows how it feels like stepping on the international stage and she had gotten the least impression out of Monika Marija, and she was impressed by The Roop the most because they transmitted peace/calmness (idk if I'm doing the right thing translating the word well) and the guys know what they're doing. Also she's happy that Jurgis finally found himself and his genre and that he's comfortable performing it.
Martynas Tyla: he's critical towards the most of the entrants, says there's no clear favourite. He doesn't support anyone but if he had to bet for someone's victory, he says he would for The Roop as well. The chorus of their entry's is what works well in Eurovision. Ieva's song's story is beautiful but it's impossible to transmit it well on a huge stage and her song won't bring us victory this year. He thinks that Monika Marija has a unique voice and style but her song is too weak. Paula shouldn't have changed her song's version to the acoustic one as the original sounded pretty Western and was a good example of pop sound. Kotryna is a cool girl and her voice is one of the strongest but the song itself is a no-no. Jurgis is also a cool guy but his song isn't fitting him either. And, according to him, The Roop
could be the leaders, but they lack 'the high-quality music part'... or something idk my translation. Pardon it while you please.
Emilija Visockaitė: Ieva is the contestant she wants the most to be chosen, as she would attract attention amongs the Eurovision noise with her silent and romantic performance. Maybe she only lacks some gimmick because she's sitting on the stage for the most part. She agrees with Tyla about Paula's bad choice to switch into the acoustic version (which ended up winning in the various polls every other Lithuanian newsblog and she herself in her Instagram created), wanted to see her perform the original as it's written accordingly by the Western standart. Monika Marija wasn't memorable to her despite the strong vocals and she is just performing a standard Eurovision ballad that ain't any memorable. And Kotryna still needs to grow as an artist. She liked the visual aesthetic of The Roop's performance but the lyrics sounded lame. They've got lots of experience but Emilija doesn't think this suits Eurovision. She's the least impressed by Jurgis, his performance wasn't original (well duh) to her.
