Today it has been announced by the Lithuanian National Broadcaster, LRT, that the 12 acts selected for the 2015 Eurovizija have been selected. The 12 acts will embark on a long journey in order to gain the Lithuanian ticket to Vienna.
The 12 acts are:
Milita Daikerytė
Liepa Mondeikaitė
Jurgis Bruzga
Vilija Pilibaitytė-Mia
Tadas Juodsnukis
Neringa Šiaudikytė
Rollikai
Vaidas Baumila
Reda Striškaitė
Wilma La
Monika Linkytė
Amberlife

The 10 week ‘Extravaganza’ will begin on January 3rd 2015, the song will be selected on February 14th and the act will be selected on February 21st.
in 2014 Lithuania was represented by Vilija with her song ‘Attention’, which failed to reach the final. Lithuania actieved their best placing in 2006 when LT United ended in 6th place with their song ‘We Are The Winners’.

And there never will be, from them or any other independent Lithuanian artists who write their own music, if LRT keeps using a system that takes away artists' control over what is done with them or their songs.

Fingers crossed Lithuania sinks again so we can ditch this horrendous national final once and for all, if that doesn't work then hopefully lack of support from actual musicians will help to force Lithuania to change.

Of 168 songs submitted, only 10 are from Lithuanian authors - seriously? Am I reading this correctly?

Some possible good news is that Leon Somov is among the authors who submitted songs. I guess that's not as surprising as I thought, he writes and produces songs for different artists sometimes.

Very encouraging to hear about Leon Somov submitting a song: if it is written to the standard of Lower Than The Ground and Ka Tu Su Manim Darai then we're in for a treat. Hopefully MIA wins with his song.

This was number #1 in Lithuania.

Leon Somov's songs with Jazzu are amazing. If the entry is on that level then Lithuania could be a contender!

In such a small country like Lithuania family & friends can really skew the voting and instead of voting for the best song/artist people vote for someone they know IRL. I hope it's not the case this year.
