I can't help myself, I always start singing along when this comes up. It's a very happy song, one of the few on it's semi-final, and it's going to be a very strong opener. Lithuania has a shoe in the final I think. It's looking into my top ten.

Well, what do I think of Lithuania's song this year? As a passionate lover of folk music I can tell you that I absolutely...... DESPISE Folk Pop. There are very few types of music I hate more and seldom do I ever find a piece of it acceptable. There is so much beautiful, raw and honest, creative folk music out there that it does not have to be dumbed down in such a cheap, tasteless and annoying package for the masses. The whole thing actually makes me cringe. By summoning me here you have brought out the music snob inside of me that I wish to keep hidden. I have nothing good to say about the song. It's at the very bottom of my list next to Russia. I could go on and spew more vitriol but i'll stop. I think that should be enough for you to know how I feel about the song.

Precisely. She's here for me, she's here for us all. I won't be attacked (although I sense the tension) because I have Jo Zette on my side. I am however cautious. One is never 100% safe when expressing such strong opinion. Gosh, I remember the time when I said that despite being fond of Sweden's entry this year, I wouldn't like to see them win again just yet as I didn't believe the song itself was quite strong enough. The gates of hell opened that day.

Bless my heart? Condescending head pats?? Well thanks dear, but anyone who thinks that this is "dumbed down" and yet enjoys the noise emanating from Finland this year needs reminding how brilliant this really is. In a way, it's a form of community service methinks!
And for the record, you'll be getting condescending head pats when this is all over...
