Its pretty funny that a big half of the fans who really hate this are those who usually wet their pants over the more typical ESC entries that usually get sent by the likes of Sweden. Their the type of people who think the only good ESC songs are songs that sound like "Heroes," "Undo," "Is it True," "Only Teardrops" or "Rise like a Phoenix." Their nothing but hypocrites because everything they criticize this for (cliché, been heard million times before, old fashioned, not mainstream, not chart friendly) can easily for the most part be charged against one of their worshiped ones

Its also rather hilarious to see them throw a hissy fit over it doing rather decently with OGAE (which I personally believe is mainly bandwagon jumping from them rather then genuine passion) and the betting and polls. Their really desperate to see it flop because it goes against what they think should be at ESC

i dont get why this is so popular. i mean i love this style, but their voices are annoying and the song is not that strong.

That simply does not make sense. If you love this style you've got to love this. Their voices are great and the song is very well done and builds perfectly. I'm just sorry that it is not my style and it's starting to dawn on me it's really going to be the winner. Eurovision winners are very seldom my style though and this follows the same pattern as Conchita and Emmelie.
Of course people who voted for these two are so gonna be voting for italy... I'm bored.

I really want to put a bet on Italy to win. I will wait til after the semis when the qualifiers have shorter odds and Italy will have better returns

I think its quite likely Italy will win

Do you think that odds could grow after semies? I wanted to wait for the same reason (remember last year's Netherlands and Austrias odds falling rapidly), but then I took a bet when odds grow to 5-6 few days ago. Hope don't grow any more, I really don't expect Swededens odds fall even more after semies or could it...

Btw, it's very interesting that someone who gave 12 points moved it to 0

I think the hype of the qualifiers from the semi finals will over-power the pre-qualified songs, so I think Italy would be a good bet after the semi finals.

My view is always to put the semi finalists on before the semi finals and the pre-qualified songs after the semi finals, unless they are early on like I put Australia each way when they were 15/1 they are now 3/1

I do agree that the odds will probably drift a little after the semi finals since other countries will be getting hype after performing and Italy won't. Unless people aren't that impressed with what they see and move to Italy. I don't expect Sweden to shorten much even after the semi but Australia is bound to get A LOT of attention and I expect their odds to shorten more.

The odds, to my surprise, have held pretty well despite the guys disappearing and not doing any real promo. They have definitely been in the background compared to Sweden and Australia who have been working the ESC circuits. I did expect Australia to overtake them for 2nd during the last week considering the building hype and the promo the last two weeks and I'm surprised that hasn't happened yet although I expect it to happen at some point.

I think the same! In a few days the situation in the odds will be:

1 Sweden
2 Australia
3 Italy

Yes I expect that to be the top 3 when ESC starts.

If Australia and Sweden can somehow split the vote and beat each other up leading to an Italy victory I'll gladly welcome Australia getting permanent participation rights

Regarding vote splitting, there are so many more liable to do it with Italy whilst Sweden and Australia are just the two. Hello, this is eurovison, wailfest, remember? The likes of Italy are piling up

As someone who loves the cheap song from Estonia we can't expect too much.

Cheap? Oh, but darling, it is a true masterpiece. It's simple but conveys a deep meaning, and the music video is just sheer perfection. xcheer1

Stupid comment (sorry If I'm mean) 'cause in Italy they achieved a platinum disc for the single and for the EP (and I'm talking about only the last project, 'cause the previous have been very popular in the United States and other countries, Wikipedia can help you XD), and I think that no one who bought their cds in Italy is an "hardcore-ESC fan".

And... since when this type of song is perfect for the "hardcore-ESC fans"?!

I'm reading a lot of criticism about this song, most of them without any sense!

claro... in Italy...

Another stupid comment (it seems you like to write them). Before Sanremo 2015 Il Volo were nobody here in Italy but they already had success... but maybe for you if something doesn't happen in Germany is not so important (and I can reveal you that their first album reached the 8th position in your national album chart XD).

P.S. "Claro" is spanish, in italian is "Chiaro".

Lo siento...
I think that Italy is the fan-fave this year. And i think in best case... place 12-15 for Italy. My opinion.
