Il Volo already took part in the biggest German family show in 2011, and Italo-Swiss co-hostess Michelle Hunziker was all fired up and felt like a big Italian Mamma :D Heidi Klum was like AWWWWW MY GAWWWD

Yes but if this was true then Italy would be doing this since 2011 but that hasn't happened. I now believe "Grande Amore" is going to do really well in Eurovision, I believe this is the first contender for the win, I'm hoping Latvia will join that list on Sunday when they pick "Love Injected".

You realise that to crack the top 1500 on uk iTunes means you need to sell only about 15 downloads right? Hardly setting the charts alight...

However I do think this will be at least top 3...and is sure favourite to win as it stands now. It's different, stand out, and that's what gets the votes... Plus I reckon a guaranteed 12 points from Australia ;)

Piero and Gianluca look pretty much the same four years later but Ignazio ...talk about image transformation

Someone made a Alvin and the Chipmunks comparison but it doesn't work as much anymore now that Ignazio lost all the weight

Il Volo mesmerizing Kris Jenner @ America

Actually Il Volo look very Spanish too me. Italians generally look different (I am a fan of generalizations y'all) - lighter eyes and hair colour and especially long noses. Or is it that Il Volo come from very Southern Italy?

Il Volo not only sing in Italian and Spanish, but also in English, French and German

You don't miss a thing like questo amore!

Maybe we should rather start debating whether it will be Roma or Milano?

IF Italy would win the thing, it would be 99% Turin (2006 Olympics indoor venue called PalaIsozaki), as in May Milan is a bit busy with UEFA Champions League Final. ;)

THE GOOD

-The instrumentals have dramatics that are unmatched, which is good.
-On vocals, the sum is greater than the parts.

THE BAD

-The Italian language of the song will probably hinder the song a little bit.
-In a way, the whole song kind of feels unapproachable to me, and it doesn't feel like a Eurovision song.
-The song is also too long, and the question becomes whether or not they can reduce the length of the song and still have it sound good.

THE VERDICT

I'll be honest with you all, I didn't know what to make of the song at first listen (in which I had a cold), so I am judging it after a second listen. While this is a good song, perhaps it is too good for Eurovision. 7 points

Seriously? That's pretty conceit and condescending coming from someone with English mother tongue.

English is not the most beautiful language, it's a lazy slang compared to Italian.

That's true, I also like it when countries try to sing in their native language, BUT it's also true that non-english songs have a harder job to win the contest.
Last non-english song winning was already in 2007...

I played all the songs from this year to my formerly-Eurovision-averse-now-fan-thanks-to-me S.O.; this was his favorite by far. I disagree thoroughly.

You know, Italian songs coming from Sanremo AREN'T made for Eurovision. However, the first of them are usually good for Eurovision, too.

The song is a bit slow to start but you seen get a great feel from it and is definitely more like something that the audience will love. At the moment, I've given it 6 points but expect that will climb. Plus those guys are pretty hot!

Precisely, this song NEVER could be in English.
