I hope there won't be too much political drama and propaganda next year. I can already see statements about Jerusalem being the capital causing drama next year.

The audience voted for the craziest shit on stage. The juries voted for "female empowerment" because of MeToo. The result: The worst winner since 2008. Too bad. Eurovision was on the right track in recent years but we are back in the low-quality 2000s now. Next year will be full of joke entries.

I screamed yesterday, what an amazing end to Eurovision, but what annoys me is the hatred she is getting now. All the freaking dislikes and stuff, she doesnt deserve it. That song was a hit right when it got released, now people suddenly hate it. Ufff ..

When was it a hit? People clicked on it on YouTube because it's weird and fanboys with bad taste hyped her in the fan bubble for clucking like a chicken and doing a chicken dance. At that time, most people didn't even know she existed.

This song shows what exactly eurovision is nowadays. Mix strange things and win! (you dont need to sing good) This is the worst winner imo in this decade... Sbe doesnt deserved to win, her song is one big trash... My family saw it and told that eurovision sucks. Ps without big israel diaspora and chicken sou ds i think she wouldnt leave semi final...
My family told the same, they are now convinced even more that ESC is trash festival, and they thought it before. They wonder why I even love to watch it, and tell me not to waste my time on it. Hahaha, they said she sings about Barbie and Pokemons. :D

The reception to this winning unfortunately hasn't been good outside the bubble. Many people are laughing at the contest more than ever. Nearly 200K dislikes on the video make it by far the most dislike ESC song ever.

I hope Eurovision can maintain some of it's reputation through this.

A less batshit crazy winner next year is probably in order now. Even though I didn't like Israel or Cyprus this year, Cyprus would probably have went down better as a winner. Although I think out of the front-runners, Germany would have been the best for the brand.

Oh, boo hoo. The best song won and already has more likes than Salvador has achieved in one year!

Get over it.

How else could the general population react when they find out what won? It's an embarrassment.

Nettas song is - as for my personal taste - terrible. But apart from that, she didn't sing well at all. I have the feeling that she got the trophy just because for the craziness. I am truly disappointed, but I am used to it since I haven't been found of the winners the past years. But this year was the worst. IMO.

The best song won

Opinion.

I love how you say get over it, when 1 year later, people are still bitter about Salvador winning, even though he had a bigger winning margin, and much larger overall points tally. He also won both votes. So if people have the right to moan about Salvador's victory, I think they have a bigger case here, too.

And I already am over it. I was disconnected from the results as soon as I saw nothing I liked had a shot at winning. Between Israel and Cyprus, I didn't care. I got my favourite winning last year, and one of my least favourites this year.

At Eurovision, you rarely get the winner you want, and you need to accept that. Onwards to next year.

Please. If you were over it you wouldn’t be bitter.

Also, dislikes - so what? That doesn’t equate to sales haha

Exactly. Next time you gonna hate something, make sure you voted enough for the others. 95% of these dislikes are just from dudes who didn't care to pick the phone. Boo hoo, that's what you get. Otherwise, you're butthurt and come there to show how you don't care but still you must leave the dislike. Whatevs man, not gonna change a thing now.
She slayed the stage on the night and deserves the win like no other. I can't wait to hear her doing her thing next year, with a real looper this time so y'all gonna know how it was supposed to sound like.

She has 3rd most viewed video on ESC channel - 35mln. Only Lena and Matador blocking first two spots for some unknown reasons.

Mélovin to our journalists outside the arena during her last winner's performance:
"Israel needs it more. This is absolutely deserving winner".

i repeat: the winner ALWAYS has a metric ton of dislikes and butthurt directed at them. this uproar about netta is child's play compared to the drama about conchita or even jamala. regular "BOOOO this is silly eurovision is trash" cries are nothing. eurovision is used to this. even MANS got some of this backlash and i can't imagine a more harmless and easy to understand winner. people clinging to this entirely fictional "aw netta is destroying the contest's image and everyone hates her" narrative are bitter and out of touch and thems the breaks.

additionally, most people bitter at salvador nowadays are bitter at his attitude and not at his victory itself and it's entirely warranted because he is and has always been an asshole and a phony, regardless of his song. and thems the breaks x 2.
