Honestly I'm tired of this "it's just an opinion"-thing. If you go public with your opinion, then you have to be prepared for people who criticize you and/or your opinion. So saying "it's just an opinion" is no argument.
Furthermore: not all opinions are equally valid.

Has anyone looked at the full Sobral interview or are they just looking at some quotes? He can have an opinion like anyone else really. So can the guy who did the novelty quasi-opera song or the one who used novelty monster masks.

i have. i can even translate all the interview from portuguese to english if needed

The stage on Saturday night when Netta or Eleni win and Salvador refuses to give them the trophy and a full on a fight breaks out:

I severely dislike the Israeli entry but if I had won Eurovision last year, I would surely not state that in public. It is completely inappropriate for last year's winner to say something like this, especially while his country is hosting. Well, I have not been a fan of Salvador last year either and wanted Belgium to win. How conflicting this must be for those fans who were fangirling about Portugal last year and who are fangirling about Israel now.

Love that drama, btw.

The ESC-Performance is not as magical as the FDC-Performance. I liked her hairstyle and outfit more back then.

I want to watch that video, where is this from?

I haven't a clue either, but I'd also like to see it. I always wonder what happened for tables to end up being thrown about. If anyone knows, do tell x

Netta slayed it (as expected) xbow Regardless of what the polls are saying, I think she still has the biggest chance to take the trophy this year.

And about Sobral......no one should waste their breath on a crap like that. Netta responded exactly how she should. She should focus on her project right now and just let the butthurt people eat themselves in agony.

Music comes in all forms and shapes. :D I think it's ok to have an opinion about anything, that's not an issue here. But c'mon, he is now some sort of PR for his own country and people will start to look at Portugal through his comments, I don't know if you understand what I am trying to say. Plus, Eurovision is in Portugal RIGHT NOW, that kind of comments about ANY participants that came to Portugal doesn't do any favour to the host nation.

The fact he won Eurovision shows his music and all kinds of music, has place at ESC. You cannot expect similar songs to win year after year. That was never the point of ESC.

It would be great if someone can give us the whole interview in English so maybe we will be able to understand the context of what he was saying, but still - it was not ok.

Netta just climbed back up to #2 on the betting odds xcheer

I really hope they do some necessary changes for the performance for the Jury Final and Final on Saturday, I don't think it was good to have the public focus, it took away focus from the song. Also the camera angles might have been a bit too chaotic, I mean the performance should be high speed to fit with the entry, but maybe they could tone it down a bit and have it slightly less jumpy.

I still don't think it was a bad performance though at some expressed, it was actually one of the best in the semi xshrug

For me staging was looking as a big chaos. Her voice is not good as in videoclip. I don't think, that she can win

Her voice IS good live, I don't get what people are complaining about really, the fact that people expect a song to sound live as in a studio version, especially when it's a song with lots of effects and vocal tricks etc, is not realistic xshrug

But yeah, the performance was a bit chaotic, they should do some adjustments, however it has to stay energetic because the song is so.
