Verka was great. That was a fun song with a nice message.

some bad faith ? I love Verka but it was obviously trashier than Toy. Toy looks so inoffensive compared to Dancing Lasha Tumbai (should have won btw). You guys have problems with chicken, I think it's a fun, quirky an short way to say guys act like chicken.

Btw Toy is still in the race for the trophy but what matters most is the TV feedback

The voting will certainly be interesting this year. I don't see a clear favorite.

I think the difference would be that, last year, Portugal was BELOVED by the general audiences but sort of divisive between the fanbase.

Israel seems to be just the opposite: loved by the fanbase, but it could be divisive with the general audiences. That doesn't mean it won't win, but it doesn't seem so in the bag as it was last wek.

Maybe it is fun and quirky way to say guys act like chicken, but for sure it is not fun and quirky to hear some obese looking dancing woman telling me that through my TV screen. Its confusing to say the least. maybe that`s because I have never treated woman like she tries to tell me "all guys do" so I can not connect with that message.

I mean it's a song. She's not really trying to say something to you. As every singer she tells a story... a story that can be real...for some people...not everybody. Do we really have to explain that ? How can somebody take this seriously like "she's shouting it to me, boo", no offense but if you don't have anything related to this kind of behavior, maybe that shouldn't bother you at all ? You could be thinking "oh that's a fun way to address an issue, I also think it's not right to treat people like that, let the message be heard"

It does bother me. There should be NO FUN way to address issue as serious as that. Some things should not be made a fun of. This is (sexism or calling the opposing gender stupid, chicken etc) one of those for me personally.

That would be Italy 2017 tbh. This was so hyped among the fanbase that I expected it to work on people like Euphoria did. I myself was hyping the song among people, and when the show was finally on, most people I know said Italy was just another decent song and nothing special. Portugal and Moldova clicked for most of them instantly though.

Same, I was literally in love with Italian song, I was hyping that song among friends and family, and my father and some friends recognized only Moldova instantly, because they watch it only on the TV, and for Italy they all have said:"it is fine.", average reaction, nothing to make you vote for it. I am part of the fandom, I know meaning of every song, so I don't know what song has instant appeal, because I track ESC two months before the actual contest.

But this is about empowering, not about victimising. And fun and joy are truly empowering. Actually, solemnity doesn't work with bullies and harrarsers.

Empowering through insults is weak sh*t. Fighting fire with fire never puts flames away.

The whole point of this song is to stop being nice with whom isn't nice with you. We get you don't agree, and that for some reason you are deeply offended about that. Ok. That's a pitty.
But she is just encouraging to stand up to harrasment and that can be perfectly done through a happy danceable catchy song. That doesn't make the act a joke.

Like... you know, you can refer to her as a some obese looking dancing woman as you did, but she is still doing weird chicken noises on the MadaBaka Beat xdance

if that`s the point of the song, it is very wrong message ... and I feel sorry for people who agree with this message and actually think this is the way to solve these kind of problems.

I am far from being religious, but to my best knowledge even the bible tells to turn other cheek. Something Jews should be very aware of.

Would you then please, aply that wise words to yourself: stop being so offended by Toy, turn the other cheek and pay homage to the Queen Netta?

first of all, the part you are referring to is in the new testament, which has nothing to do with jews.
secondly, what does religion in general and Netta's religion in particular to do with this? (you don't even know her religious beliefs)
thirdly: are you aware that your analogy means literally: if you are sexually harassed, then expose yourself to further harassment. Is this REALLY what you want to say?

I am pretty sure Jews are familiar with the bible, both old and new testament at least much more aware than many other nations in the world? Am I incorrect?

I never said Netta`s religion has got anything to do with anything. I am just saying that the bible (God) tells believers to live by certain type of values. Forgiveness and giving 2nd, 3rd etc. chances is one of them. Am I incorrect?

And the third point you came up with is just so stupid I don`t really need to reply to this, do I?

There is a difference between being offended (which I am not btw, because the chicken dancing women never can do that to me - I just think lyrics make no sense and have got nth to do with me and majority of guys) and reacting to that feeling. And not negatively reacting is what "turn the cheek" means.
