Considering the comments here, everyone must have heard the song already.

Or, just wait for the freaking song and judge it then.

They keep mentioning Rock'n Roll kids and since I like that song, I'm trying to be hopeful. But knowing RTEs inability to come up with something reasonable in quite some time, I'm also not holding my breath. I'm rooting for Ireland big time so my fingers are crossed. The fact it is allegedly Gospel inspired gives me hope, totally up my alley. But it's also a difficult style as far as mass appeal and instant catchiness is concerned but hopefully they can prove me wrong.

I'm still dumb-founded that Ireland can't come up with a more effective national final. Don't use that Late Night Show approach and come up with a different voting system. Look what countries are doing all over the continent.

The problem isn't really the singers when it comes to Ireland lately, it is more about the songs. Molly Sterling had such a unique voice, but a song like that needed a stronger performance to work in Vienna. It wasn't anything wrong with Nicky Byrne, it was mostly his song that was just quite old-fashioned and felt absolutely pointless. And last year, I remember that looking at Brendan Murray, that he was a singer with a lot of potential, but ruined it completly, letting him sing a powerballad in a freaking balloon, instead of just giving him a guitar and let him sing something simple that he could pull off. Once again, they send a rather talented singer that just need a guitarbased popballad and he would sail through without problems..now all the talks about gospel choirs and such are really scaring me and make me feel that it might be a song that he can't do well with in Lisbon.

But the difference here from Brendan is that the song is written by Ryan himself, so he should know what he is capable of. So I guess we have to wait and see. And with all the hate on Ireland right now, watch them now qualify from the semifinal just for the lolz.

I think it'll be better than 2017 and 2016 (as if it was difficult to be better than Nicky Byrne) but RTÉ are so antiquated in their approach to everything that I really really don't have any hope in Ryan O'Shaughnessy, nice and all as he might be. I'm willing to be surprised though, I mean Molly Sterling was a wonderful shock in 2015!

Actually, gospel is the only interesting part here imo (if they pull it off in a good way), just a male-solo guitar ballad sounds bland to my ears... but other than that I kind of agree with you. Ireland's problem is the tragic songs they send, maybe not so much the artists. But the entries lately have been bland and dated.

Why does Ireland themselves make scoring a good result in Eurovision sound as nuclear physics as of lately. If they really want to pull through they just need Every Song Is A Cry For Love-type of song with Charismatic performer and they're set.

Brendan Murray had the most interesting Irish entry for a long time but it just didn't work on stage and I imagine his voice probably put many off... Nicky Byrne was terrible in every conceivable way and Molly Sterling was just too nondescript to stand out.

RTÉ are absolute idiots for turning down Heathers, I'm a firm believer they'd have made it to the final.

Wiwibloggs have posted a little snippet of the song from Ryan's Instagram story.

Maybe we'll qualify in 2019.....

I saw it on escxtra today... The snippet was only 5 seconds, but those 5 seconds sounded quite good to me. :)

It's alright I guess. I don't find it offensive or bad in anyway, just boring. I think in the line up of a semi this will repeat 2015 and be totally forgotten. They're very lucky to be in the second half of the semi.

Just what I expect from Ireland. Completely bland and forgettable. Maybe if Sweden overtakes as the most successful country, Ireland will start to take this seriously.

Nice cute little song. I'm definitely enjoying this, but I doubt that it'll stand out enough. Especially in the 1st semi. But let's wait for the staging.

I'm slightly under the impression that Ireland is attempting to be the record-breaking country, which will hold the highest string of non-qualifications ever. I'm so upset with this trashy and barely memorable entry.
