I know it won't happen but it would be amazing if Hozier was our act.

I think Ireland has gone "too" pop during these years... I mean, nothing wrong with Jedward, they're fun and everything but for a country which is considered - and without any reasonable doubt - one of the musical gems of Europe (if I may say, in the world) my heart breaks every time... and I say this because I'd like Ireland to get the place it deserves!

During the 90's there were so many good acts, so many critically acclaimed catchy pop songs (I'm thinking about the Corrs mostly), I used to work in a music store at that time and our Irish shelves were always full and then... what happened? There is nothing wrong with putting a typical Irish arrangement in an ESC song!!

Please Ireland come back!!!

In a way, if you mean that latest Irish entries were everything but recognizably Irish, nothing more than a few slight hints. Maybe good tunes, few personality...

A change in the selection process is overdue. Put more effort into it, folks!

Just make sure to bring back Linda Martin!

Maybe Laura Izibor could represent us. She doesn't seem to have a lot going on at the moment.

Using The Hit gives me the impression that RTÉ are finally taking things seriously. They're pushing Nicky Byrne a lot, like with his radio show, so it's great that he's being used. Quite excited about this tbh!

You're obviously getting the Barbarellas, what with Edele's recent return to the limelight on Celebrity Big Brother and the fact they are twins.
Mrm you will adore this song with every fibre of your beingxyes

I just find it quite telling that the website header hasn't been updated in 2/3 years

We'll probably end up with rumours of Melanie McCabe, Mr Walsh and Jonas Gladnikoff as usual.

Does the Irish guy who writes for loads of other NFs ever send songs for Ireland? Aidan O'Connor I think his name is?

It's about time Ireland tried something new. It'll be interesting to see what sort of entries they get. Two weeks doesn't seem like a lot of time for people to prepare their entries, especially as it seems they have to post them. Actually, come to think of it, does the site even give any instructions on where to send entries?

I noticed that. It has me a bit concerned that they don't seem to have the submission method set out properly. I was surprised they don't have some sort of online submission method. Maybe with a two week time period they are wanting non-eurovisiony songs submitted.

I'd say a two week time period would do the opposite. Artists who aren't currently thinking about Eurovision might not even be aware submissions are open until the last moment. Eurovisiony acts may be waiting for the announcement and already have something prepared.

On the RTE entertainment page it is just telling them to send entries to RTÉ Entertainment, Donnybrook, Dublin 4.
