But what is going on with the deadline set for October, 10th. What's even more important - have they applied until yesterday, because now it seems they cannot even apply as they are not EBU member? Because December is far too late and NERIT could take part in 2016 at the earliest (in case they are accepted in December 2014).

If they've applied and are told in December they cannot compete then they surely have to be penalized for late withdrawal? It's quite confusing because we don't know what the EBU will be doing.

They say that EBU will decide about this issue in December (whether they will allow us to take part or not).

EBU will decide about their pending membership request. And that has nothing to do with Eurovision. In Eurovision they could participate only if EBU accept the broadcaster as active member. Jon Ola Sand and the whole ESC team are just employees in EBU, the actuall commities which will take the decision are totatly different case. Now I'm even more worried tbh

They cannot apply if they are not EBU member. So they have to rely on two very unsure future events:
1.) Being accepted as active member in December, which if we take in consideration the heavy obstructions which EBU have to them, is something that could not happen at all.
2.) Then if 1 happens afterall, they have to rely on new exceptions from the rules, which is also very unlikely at the moment.

So the last point where they say "EBU intends" (I don't know whether it has the same meaning in Greek as well) is most important. If EBU have promised so, it sounds better.

Yes it has the same meaning in greek, its the word "προτίθεται" that means intend

Year without Cyprus was painfull for me, so I can not, just can not imagine one more year, this time without Greece. For many times they sent songs I strongly dislike but I really like their spirit and passion on stage, every time (even I somethimes dislike the song).

So I really really, but really hope that our dearest neigbors will be there. Ορθόδοξοι αδελφοί!

Today during the morning show of ALPHA TV, Mr Kalimeris explained that NERIT and EBU have to solve some technical problems in order for Greek national television to become active member of the EBU something which is expected by December 5th. He is not optimistic that NERIT will make it and he considers unlikely to see Greece in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.

I hope it's just a senseless rumour. Greece is definitely my favourite ESC country and everytime Poland flops I keep my fingers crossed for Greece. For me ESC could be organized every year in Athens. There is simply NO EUROVISION without Greece!

Well even if he doesn't know anything I think that it's pretty obvious that we won't take part. I mean since the deadline was in September and we may be member of EBU at December, so I can't see us competiting. Btw it's not that big deal, even Ukraine is out

I don't know. On the previous years the deadline would have been on December, so maybe the EBU would make an exception for Greece.
