I don't feel hate
I just feel sorry
You feel so very clever whenever you find another way to wear me down
But I don't feel hate
I just feel sorry
So you can wiggle with that middle finger, it'll never wiggle back to you
'Cause I don't feel

Sorry

I really don't care (ah, ah-ah) that you want to bash me (ah-ah, ah-ah)
Do it with flair and I'll let you be (I'll let you be common Eileen)
But don't you dare (don't you dare), mmm, to get angry (to get angry)
When you realize those words just don't hit me
What?

'Cause I don't feel hate
I just feel sorry
You feel so very clever whenever you find anothеr way to wear me down
But I don't feel hate
I just feel sorry
So you can wigglе with that middle finger, it'll never wiggle back to you
'Cause I don't feel hate

Sorry

I really don't mind (ah, ah-ah) to be your rival (ah-ah, ah-ah)
'Cause for your kind it's essential for survival (say what? He did not just say that)
Yes, I did (yes, I did), and I feel sorry (so sorry)
I don't feel hate, that's the whole point of this song (that's the song)
I guess you need patronization as some kind of validation
You won't cope with the frustration that your random me-fixation
Is another affirmation that you're just a hateful person
Who's not really better than me

Tap break, uh

I don't feel hate (don't feel hate)
I just feel sorry (I just feel sorry)
You feel so very clever whenever you find another way to wear me down (wear me down)
Meine Damen und Herren
But I don't feel hate (no, no, no)
Das war's mit "I Don't Feel Hate"
I just feel sorry (just feel sorry)
Ich hoffe, Sie haben noch ein derbe nices Leben, und bis bald
So you can wiggle with that middle finger, it'll never wiggle back to you (wiggle, wiggle, wiggle you)
'Cause I don't feel hate (no, no, no, no)
I just feel sorry (I just feel sorry)
You feel so very clever whenever you find another way to wear me down (don't wear me down)
But I don't feel hate (I don't feel hate)
I just feel sorry (I just feel sorry)
So you can wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle you (wiggle, wiggle, wiggle you)
'Cause I don't feel

This man plays Satan's instrument, the ukulele. And despite the fact that one day I'm going to set fire to every ukulele the world has shat out from its evil core in the most important bonfire our planet will have ever seen, saving us in the process from those unbearably twee app adverts and indie girl in her kitchen Youtube moments... you know, despite the goddamn wicked crime committed against all that is tasteful by picking the ukulele as your weapon of choice, I don't think I hold a grudge against this young man. How could you when he's one with seagulls, even going as far as to welcome their poo on his lovely yellow jacket? Jendrik gives me major children's tv presenter vibes. Germany's very own Pat Sharp. He seems extremely friendly and has the ability to make people smile. I think that will be a good thing. Jendrik is a A LOT but he's getting away with it, at least for now. I'll cautiously await his entry.

Oh god, the ukulele. It's like "white guy with acoustic guitar" but worse. Girls with pink hair and bare feet and guys with hawaii shirts and fedoras.

For those who are interested: this is a short version of Jendrik to his "How to do a video" to his ESC-song. All in German, but you can guess how the setting of the video will be like.

He comes off as the next Nathan Trent. Too pure to be real... can totally see him bombing the televoting as well. But hey, 'n Hamburger Jung, and if his song is good & matches him well – why not?

I love it that his music video will be diverse. (flamboyant) homosexuals, hipsters, people of colour, a Muslim woman.

I'm glad he will be promoting diversity with his entry!

Aw, when I saw Jendrik's picture and the key word "ukulele" somewhere, I knew you would come through in no time. Thanks for the laughter, your low-key venomous threatening posts putting "twee app ads" and the like in their place NEVER get old  Ditto. I have nothing to add Sir.

I fear what's to come: if it's any anything like Belgium 2010, Malta 2013, Cyprus 2015 or the lovey-dovey version of Germany 2012, I will wait outside for S!ster's comeback in 2022.

Also, how to apply for the ukulele bonfire, dear Kai? I just want to help. xangel

My first impression is a quite good one, he stands out and seems to be very likeable, so I am quite curious about the song :-)

You guys are just amazing that you can come with so many "conclusions" just based on the artist and his previous works alone. He could have written the song, but we are not sure if there are other people involved (ie. arrangement etc) and whether he will be sending an entry the same as his previous works.

I shall reserve my judgement until his official song is out. Hopefully, it's good.

He also plays guitar and piano. So who knows how the song is gonna be? Many people seem very judgemental just hearing the word "ukulele". You might be surprised!

Tumblr, mostly.
to be honest "he likes seagulls" is a much bigger red flag than "plays the ukulele". Who the fuck loves seagulls? The assholes of the Avian kingdom.

Anyway, seems like Germany are attempting to Have A Fun Whimsical Entry in the vibe of The Roop or Gagnamagnið. Can't wait until they come up with a Twin Twin or Running On Air and flop badly.

Oh it's no problem whatsoever. You know I'm always here to fight against the horrors of twee advert ditties, and the people that dare to bring us this music at our beloved contest. I thought I was nice though. I'd call them friendly threats.

I have a very dark confession. I........ actually own a ukulele. I assure you I didn't purchase it myself. A few years ago my dear but misguided little brother bought me the cursed instrument as a birthday present. I looked at it and picked it up, gave it a strum and said "gee thanks", put it snugly back into the little cardboard box, put the little cardboard box into a larger metal safe and then swallowed the key. We never speak of this safe or its contents now. I have sinned though, I confess. I hope I'm forgiven one day. It took me a long time to forgive myself.

I hope Jendrik's song is something in the vein of Cake To Bake, which I saw people mentioning here and elsewhere. The big positive here is that he seems like a joker. Even if what we're delivered is something twee in tone, it can hopefully be fun and tongue in cheek.

Are you and your brother still in touch with each other? That does not seem self-evident to me.
More power to you for having the courage to confess though, that is a lot!
