So who are the big favourites? Are there none?

I personally love Ryk's song the most but I wouldn't mind Voxxclub winning either just in sake of diversity in Lisbon. It's catchy.

There doesn't actually seem to be a big favourite this time around. I think anyone but Xavier has a chance.

If these leather trouser morons win, it will be the most embarrassing event in German ESC history.
Europe's ESC fans would send us to the last place again, and it would be more deserved than ever before.

Well Michael Schulte is quite far ahead in the odds. Germany has also risen a lot in the contest odds which I think is down to Schulte's song. It looks like a good chance for a top 10 for Germany.

I think it could actually do surprisingly well in the televote. It would get absolutely slaughtered by the juries though.
I think it's a similar situation to pimba in Portugal. When we sent pimba songs in 2007 and 2014, everyone in Portugal hated them and thought they would do terribly. That's because we are absolutely tired of it and see it as the epitome of trash. However, even though both failed to qualify, they only did so by 2 or 3 points. 2007 in a 100% televoting year (in a semi-final of 27 countries) and 2014 was 6th in the semi-final televoting. It's a novelty for foreigners, and that may be the situation of Voxxclub in case they're selected.
I hope you won't choose them though, you've got better options in my opinion.

Voxxclub are worth a risk.. it worked for Jedward, it didn't work for Twin Twin, but a song like "I mog di so" would be a first of its kind. The guys can pull a "sunstroke project" or "electro velvet" :p

Re: GERMANY 2018

I heard the songs now, and I have to say that I liked 4 songs  xheart

But my favorites are Michael Schulte and Natia Todua !! but I would also be pleased with Xavier Darcy and Ryk !

So I expect one of these 4 in Lisboa :D

Re: GERMANY 2018

I think we will have an obvious winner and that will be Michael.
First I wasn't really impressed by his song but with the video released I could see him finish very high. And he has the will to do well.
Sure he won't win Eurovision, but for now it's the strongest ballad in this year so far.
The gimmicks are a bit cheesy but they aren't over the top.

Voxxclub's song isn't that bad but I have the feeling that the guys do it only for promotional reasons.
(The others of course too but in a more pleasant way)

If I must predict the outcome of the voting I would say:
Televoting winner: Natia or Voxxclub
Panel winner: Michael
Jury winner: Ivy

Overall winner: Michael (because he will also finish high with the jury and televoting)

In 3 hours the riddle gets solved.
But after 3 consecutive years with underwhelmed songs I'm more optimistic this year! :p

Re: GERMANY 2018

I expect Germany to do like Finland next year if Voxxclub is robbed tonight. Have them perform all the songs
They can have one song each with the rest being featuring artists xheat

+ They have a flash-mob as the half-time show like in Norway 2010 xwoo

Re: GERMANY 2018

Not that I hate that kind of song, it‘s just not my favourite music AND imo also not the spirit of Eurovision. For quite a few years we‘ve been listening to mostly plain boring pop songs in Eurovision. Why is that? You can watch that in every country‘s pop idol, the voice and whatever these casting shows are called. Almost every country has them. We don’t need a rip off in Eurovision.

I absolutely agree with you.

Looking forward to that post xheat Hope Ashley has one prepared as well. I might join in too.

Expect it to be the roast of all roast posts if you pick Michael (which looks likely). I'd actually be a bit of a liar if I said I wasn't secretly excited by the prospect of itxheat

Hello, I have my draft ready. Don't worry. x I also make sure to try and throw plenty of shade throughout.

Who doesn't love a chance to spit venom and spread hate while everyone hypes? Just bring everyone crashing back down to earth.

I just hope people vote genuinely and don't think about what other countries have already sent. Just vote for your favourite :) Hoping for a good show as well. Elton ♡

Re: GERMANY 2018

Well I already have a reason to complain, will those tweets be appearing throughout the entire show? :? :? I find them more distracting than the ads in Maltas NF.
