Re: GERMANY 2018

Ivy Quainoo: Sounds like a RnB-ballad. The Parts are quite good, but the Chorus doesnt have enough Power. 6/12.
Michael Schulte: A very emotional, dark Song. Reminds me a bit of Snow Patrol somehow. 6/12.
Ryk: Boring. Way too slow. No memorable Melody. Not fitting for Eurovision. 3/12.
Voxxclub: This is so typical Bayern :D It has a huge Livepotential. But not on the Samelevel as "Donnawedda" or "Ziwui". 8/12
Natia Todua: Perfect Life 2. 2/12
Xavier Darcy: Not been Leaked right now.

I predict Ivy Quainoo to win, but on ESC she will rely mostly on Juryvotes I guess.

Just listened to Xaviers Snippet:

Xavier Darcy: Sound like a Song from a Westernsong.Interesting Voice. 6/12

Overall a better NF than usual, but unfortunately no Winning-Material. Seems like we wont have #Freiburg2019
I think 15th-20th is Realistic.

Re: GERMANY 2018

I thought that I couldn't be more disappointed by the German selection this year but damn ... these songs are rather weak.

So far I really like Michael Schulte (Ivy is not bad either). We still have to wait for the full versions ^^ Where is "Jonah"? I couldn't find it on Itunes...
Voxxclub is trash. Sorry.

Re: GERMANY 2018

I don't think they are tragic... I feel like Ivy and Michael could make quite an impact live. And we don't even know the full versions yet :D

So far: I'm not as shocked as last year. Nothing can beat last year's trash :D

Judging by the snippet Xavier's my fave but of course safest option will win: either Michael or one of the girls:lol:

Re: GERMANY 2018

House on fire is pleasant but not powerful enough, I fail to see how it could stand out at Eurovision.

You Let Me Walk Alone would have been a perfect entry a decade ago, staging could elevates it but I'm bored.

My Own Way is even more average than Perfect Life, she deserves a better song because her voice is quite interesting.

You and I is good, a hauting ballad! Really like this one, Ryk is singing with passion.

I mog di so.... 12 points from the Swiss televoting and I'm surprised to say I don't hate it as much as I thought I would have, it's quite pop and not over-the-top Bavarian. Jury would give this 0 point though.

Jonah is booooooring, sounds like a demo from a Mumford & Sons song.

Deutschland, pick RYK or voXXclub please.

This is already so much better than last year  Not really difficult, I know, but still. Love Michael's song, it definitely has his handwriting on it! xlove And I'm now officially on the voXXclub train, ahaha.

Yeah, I couldn't care less who ends up representing us this year. Neither song stands a chance and we're probably looking at another bottom 5 finish.

Re: GERMANY 2018

Actually, I think it's a very decent selection.

Now Germany, listen to me very, very carefully: Do NOT select Ivy Quainoo. While I like the song, it still sounds too much like your entries from the past 4 years or so.

I actually have a theory that for these past years (excluding Roman Lob) Germany always ended up sending the song from the NF that was the most similar / closest to Lena to Eurovision. Think about it: always a female voice, slightly quirky, very hmmm, shall I say inoffensive?, but also something that only Germans really GET. The result of this was never being noticed, just being looked over completely, and ending up waaaaaayyyy down at the bottom of the scoreboard.

Now this year please please, pretty please Germany, please just be brave for once and try to get noticed. My choice would be Xavier, as it will at least stand out a lot and get you noticed. (I just hope his live vocals are good).

Voxxclub will also definitely stand out, but maybe too much so, and I predict it could pull a TwinTwin, so please avoid this, it is just too much of a risk.

Agree, don't get why our German friends are so harsh about the whole selection, I find the line-up interesting. Maybe it's because you guys are now used to huge flops one after another so now everything that comes is seen as tragic xD

I appreciate also "Jonah", even if I generally despise this genre, but this song is very good!

Voxxclub are not my cup of tea, but I could get why they would win, in case...

This is the one I like most from listening to the snippets. I like the production and little bits going on in this like the music box, and her voice is beautiful. Is the full version available anywhere yet? The song was just about to explode and then the itunes preview decides to finishX-OI Got a feeling I could really get behind this though.

When she goes "high" with the voice... heartbreaking. xcry1 xheart

I agree too. "My Own Way" actually sounds strong, though unsure it's my kind of thing. Same can be said for "Jonah" which is even further away from what I like but there are parts of it I appreciate and think it actually stands out. "You Let Me Walk Alone" I really dislike because of the vocals but again sounds far from impossible to sell at Eurovision (lord I hate it though). No comment on "I Mog di So" really. "House of Fire" I need the full version of NOW.

You beat UK at least here and we've still got one more song to find out.
