Apparently Germany will host if Australia win, its a done deal with the EBU.

I should cross my fingers for Australia then, because if Eurovision will stay one more year in central Europe, there are bigger chances that Czech Republic will stay too. Unfortunatelly, I don´t like the Australian song. :(

But I still don´t understand what this have to do with Ann Sophie´s winning chances being "completely crushed".

I think he means that all the Germans abroad will vote for Australia, instead of Ann Sophie, So Germany can host.

Part 3 of the song-check:

1. 9,9
- beautiful voices - strong and harmonic duet - very intense - touching - very good live - interesting structure - best ballad in the competition

2. :it: 7,7
- strong voices - a bit dated - will not be appealing for a wide audience - a lot of energy - will finish high but will not win - predictable

3. :me: 5,3
- typical Balkan-ballad - interesting structure - one would have expected more form the composer

4. :ie: 5,2
- great voice - a bit boring - there are no highs - she seems stressed - beautiful - not as touching as it should be

5. :lt: 4,9
- it's fun - good opener - tacky - not very innovative - sound more like s solo - not a duet but a duel

6. :cz: 4,6
- strong voices - something is missing - bland structure - sounds like a musical - not authentic - no rhythm

7. :mt: 4,5
- good voice - bad production/arrangement - zero rhythm - too much of everything - no message - Georgia is better

8. :uk: 3,9
-sounds very dated - one would expect more from the UK - flat - "this song is nothing" - repetitive - trashy - catchy but annoying - a bit embarrassing

9. :sm: 3,2
- very very dated - typical Siegel - constructed - flat and weak - song does not fit those two young artists

10. :pt: 2,6
-very melancholic - she sings this song too aggressive - Singer and Song do not fit together - weak voice - no highlights - dated - will not reach the final

One of the experts is from Austria and that's what she said about Ann Sophie:
- a great artist
- amazing charisma
- she wants it!
- beautiful women
- good song

They named :au: :se:  :at: as their favorites

Have they done Australia, Sweden, Estonia, Slovenia and Austria?? If so where can I find the results??

How many germans there could be abroad? I don't think they have a relevant diaspora. Not in Europe, anyway. xshrug

There are almost 100,000 each in France and UK. Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria & Israel seem to have a sizable diaspora as well. But really nothing widespread, it's evident from previous years that Germany lacks a diaspora vote - no one really consistently votes for them.

You are right. For a small country (population-wise) like Switzerland, even 200k germans can make a difference.
What a messy situation! The first time that a diaspora vote works against its home country; it's so unfair for Ann Sophie. :(

Ann Sophie interviewed by Merkur-online.de
http://www.merkur-online.de/bouleva...n-tag-eurovision-song-contest-mm-4928008.html

Translation (by google):
Munich - The German ESC participant Ann Sophie speaks in an interview with the Münchner Merkur over pressure, negative criticism and the dream of a career as a musician.

The winner of the German preliminary decision voluntarily surrendered to the appearance in the final of Euro Vision Song Contest (ESC) - there was in the history of European music competition than ever before. So goes Ann Sophie Dürmeyer, which - similar to Lena Meyer-Landrut - occurs by their first name, the 60th edition of the ESC on 23 May in Vienna. There she will sing her title "Black Smoke". The 24-year-old from Hamburg to London birthplace began performing with his own songs three years ago. "Jump The Gun", she applied for the so-called Club concert and won - as the year before the female trio Elaiza - the wildcard for the German national final.

Think back many times at this moment on 5 March, when going Andreas has told you and the audience that he does not compete with the ESC final and can hand over his starting place?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: Yeah, it was quite surreal. I had already resigned myself so not to go to Vienna - and it would have been very happy also Andreas. And then I should at once but allowed to drive. I do not wussste know if I can believe that.

Would you like to once again had a call from the audience, whether it is okay?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: In the very first moment so, yes. But there were so many viewers called for me, I spent the whole night in second place, and now I step up as runner-up.

Andreas going had justified its surprising cancellation so that he did not feel the pressure increased. The pressure is not an issue for you?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: No, not a bit. I know that this includes when you take part in the ESC, and have no problem.

After the German national final it comes to social networking sites regularly to heated debates about whether there might be the right artist and the right title were sent into the race. How do you cope when you read that one half press your thumbs and other prophesied to you the last place?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: The bounces off me, frankly. I'm looking forward to the 50 percent who support me ...

Never look at the comments that are posted online about you?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: But yet, sometimes, even the negative ones. And then I enjoy myself a bit about how much time some people have to deal with me. So much time I had not.

It does not insecure?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: Yes. I have a cool background, family, and friends who support me and give me love. And I work with a great team. The positive energy emanating from all that is much stronger than the negative one person X from Y, which does not take it well.

Have you ever met or Elaiza with Lena to can give tips for the finals?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: Elaiza I met at the club concert in February, but since was not even tell if I win here and I have no contact Lena. But anyway I think that it is better if you do your own experiences.

How do you prepare yourself for the final?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: Actually, I'm preparing for the ESC preliminary round before the finals. I spend a lot of interviews and sing ESC parties and television appearances over again my song "Black Smoke". and simply enjoy each day!

How would you describe your musical style? Who has influenced you the most?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: I would describe my style as a mix of pop, soul and jazz. Previously, Christina Aguilera was my role model with her soulful voice. That has always been the direction in which I wanted to develop myself. But Beyonce has inspired me also Regina Spektor or Etta James. I can never say exactly who influenced me because now when I write a song that everything runs subconsciously.

What comes first, the text or the music?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: I sit down at the piano, playing a few chords, and from this sometimes results in a chord progression that touches me, and from that emotion out I write the lyrics. Sometimes a song is created in an hour, sometimes lasts's also much longer.

And to be a musician and had to stand on the stage always been your dream?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: Yes! I love it! I started early with ballet. With two and a half years, my mom put me into ballet teddy bear, in London, and then I have done gymnastics and dancing for 15 years. Back in Hamburg, I have with the ballet only reason stopped because we had no performances. That's always been important to me that I have appearances.

But ballet is even now not music in the strict sense ...

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: No, but it comes very early in touch with music, learning to move to the music. But I have six years started to play the piano, the cello later came to be, then I started to sing. Music has always been my outlet for everything that moves me. And at age 14, I knew I wanted to be a musician and needs.

Training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute - that sounds more like acting ...

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: It's a drama school, but as an actor must be able to move, you have to have a trained voice can sing. I actually only applied for a job at the Lee Strasberg Institute in order to have a reason to go to New York.

Who has most encouraged in the decision making music professionally?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: Actually all. My parents, my friends - who always knew that I belong to the stage. There was never a debate about whether I might what to do else do business studies or something. (Laughs.)

But participation in the Euro Vision Song Contest is not what one aims from a young age, right?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: No, of course not.

Then you have the Grand Prix not been looked at as a child, with parents, with chips and lemonade?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: No, aware for the first time when Lena was there (in 2010, ed.). That when all Europe come together to make music together, I found great.

But that does not sound like you've been sitting as a child with parents and brother in front of the television, with chips and lemonade ...

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: Yes.

Then you can indeed do not ask for your favorite winning song?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: Yes! I found Lena's song "Satellite" always great. The jabbing and stands out until today.

What are your plans for the near future?

Ann Sophie Dürmeyer: end of the week my album "Silver Into Gold" appears, and it will definitely give a tour. Everything else depends on what happens in the ESC final on 23 May.

The interview was conducted by Rudolf Ogiermann.

I guess people are a bit pissed because we will host if Australia wins (I'm sure they won't btw) and that could be considered as unfair. I get that people don't like that (it is indeed seems a bit dubious) but this is just big drama over nothing ... all over again. Let's just wait and see ... and Ann Sophie has nothing to do with that.

I would have been pissed off no matter which country they would have chosen. The whole idea is not thought threw at all by EBU
