I would have been pissed off no matter which country they would have chosen. The whole idea is not thought threw at all by EBU

Yeah that's what I meant - People think that it's unfair and dubious + It's seems rather random.
I thought about it and I guess the EBU wanted to assure that one country can guarantee to let Australia host the whole thing on their ground. We had our own ESC some years ago so it would be no problem to give them their time to shine. I could imagine that this is also part of a deal between the BBC and NDR - Remember NDR wanted the anniversary show? Maybe they gave the right to the BBC and they gave NDR the right to host if Australia wins. It's all speculation anyway - I'm still waiting on a official announcement. An even if it's true ... then Australia has to win the whole thing in may .... and I don't think this will happen.
Until then Pawhlen don't get too upset - it's bad for your heart

I really hope :au: won´t win now mostly because it will be so much fuss about it.

I'll be annoyed if we got given the anniversary show over actually hosting eurovision.^ I hope that idea does not turn out to be true.

Hmm think about it - the anniversary-show was a "sure" thing while the possibilities of Australia winning is rather small.

I'd rather risk it to host eurovision. I think that would be great for eurovision in this country.

I don´t think the news of Germany appearently hosting in the case of the Australian victory will have an effect on the result of this year´s ESC.

The vast, vast majority of the voters aren´t following Eurovision so close that they even notice this news or remember it while voting.
And the commentators won´t have time to mention this fact during the 30 seconds introducing the entry.

I agree but we've got a problem if the BILD finds out

Would that be a problem for us or for the Aussies? Some people will probably not like Germany to host again and maybe Australia will lose a few points because of it. No points from Greece!

Exactly my thoughts! I mean, a lot of people still don't even know that Australia will take part this year, so they also will never ever get to know all the dram we had so far around this participation...

All the confusion of this aside, in my opinion anyway, the best song is going to Eurovision. I love Black Smoke. Basically it’s about love burning out and that’s all well and good but what I love the most about the song is what a banger it is. Like over the last week I haven’t been feeling anything like what this song describes at all, yet I’ve been filled with such an overwhelming desire to belt it out at the top of my lungs, and I’ve done so every night, and it’s just so satisfying. Naturally Germany qualifies directly to the final so expect this to place in the low teens.

So it's my turn again. The last results of the eurovision.de songcheck:

1. :sl: (9,5)
- very cool - ear worm - exceptional voice - one would like to dance - performance/outfit does not fit the song - why the headphones?

2. :se: (9,5)
- potential winner - perfect package - awesome performance - great message - exceptional performer - almost too perfect - catchy
(the host actually read my comment out and they all agreed with me  )

3. :de: (8,1)
- great stage-presence - will surprise a lot of people - Power-women - cool - "she is such a nice girl" - interesting/powerful voice - good but not as catchy as others - better than Kümmert - one hates the song or one likes it - she should wear something cooler
(and she read my comment out again *_* )

4. :il: (7,6)
- great oriental vibes - cool dance song - catchy chorus - lyrics are not that great - one would like to dance - charming - sure qualifier

5. :pl: (6,3)
- touching song - not as over-performed as some other ballads - calm and down-to-earth - not very spectacular - beautiful voice

6. :az: (5,9)
- great voice - not very touching - very European - very mainstream - it's ok

7. :is: (5,7)
- very Emmelie de Forest - not exactly an ear worm - solid - they should change the performance - no instant-appeal - definitely not a winner

8. :lv: (5,1)
- mysterious - different/cool - no instant appeal - weird voice - authentic - will not work on the big stage

9. :ch: (4,3)
- interesting mixture of genres - will most likely struggle to qualify - no structure - the video is confusing - weak lyrics

10. :cy: (3,9)
- boooooring - almost annoying - sweet and innocent - charming/likable - no energy - weak lyrics

It was a pleasure to translate for you guys

"Ann Sophie tells us two hearts say three words"

Wait, is it not "too hard to say three words"? I've been singing the wrong lyrics all this time if so:oops:
