I don't get the hype over Lisandro or his song. What's so special about him?

I've grown to like Nassi's song a lot though, of the snippets I've heard in the past couple of days, he and Madame Monsieur really impressed me

Eva was a strong song until that 2nd chorus when it became overprocuded and then with the final chorus it just turned to an awful cliché mess, wtf was that ugly high note? :lol: It really feels like the song was made with Eurovision in mind which is, nowadays, not a good thing.

I'm really surprised by Noée and Malo songs, their snippet didn't convince me at all but I enjoy the full tracks a lot.

Really love Emmy Liyana and Masoe, my 2 favourites from this first semi-final. Don't care about all the other acts (Ehla song disappoints me...).

I can't wait too see Lisandro perform on stage. His song is sooo good. The best chance so far to give my country his best rank since a long time

I managed to avoid all the spoilers laid over me, quite proud of this one :mrgreen:

I know this could be taken the wrong way, but it's not my intention. As a French speaker, I will put up an English live stream of tonight's semi-final (and all of them if it goes well), so that all of you can enjoy what's going on and understand what the juries will say for example (spoiler: they'll say everything is amazing and we'll totally win Eurovision with each song :mrgreen: ). I asked you last year if some would like to see English webstreams of selections and the majority say yes, so why not do it this year!

If Lisandro went on to win, I'd be so proud of our entry. This slightly reminds me of Kristian Kostov. OMG ICANT WAIT.

Lisandro is a great performer on stage and have a great voice. Bottom 10 for him would be a really sad surprise because i can't imagine first of all juries give him 0 points everytime with a song like this (and with the big staging i can see with this song)
He should be at least in the Top 10 (even if i think he should be in the Top 5/6, it only depends of the other songs). His song is much better than Alma who ended at 12th place.

Also he is half portuguese/half french and his song has a real message to send. But we also need to wait the second semi-final if we can find a better song

My top 3 on this first SF:
1 - Lisandro Cuxi "Eva"
2 - Emmy Liyana "OK ou KO"
3 - Malo' "Ciao"

I agree in that Lisandro’s song is not as great as some of you make it out to be IMO. When I first heard the snippet it didn’t really stand out. I managed to listen to a bit more of the song on iTunes and I just still don’t get it.
When you’ve got all this great, original (for Eurovision) stuff in your NF (Madame Monsieur, Nassi, Masoe...), I simply don’t see why you would pick this instead. Don’t get me wrong, it’s by no means a ‘bad’ song, it’s just...lacking that wow factor for me.

But it's not enough. You don't do well because you can dance on stage. You get a good result because your song is different from the others. Because it conveys something that people can connect to.
"Eva" doesn't have any of these elements. It feels so bland and unoriginal. Mark my words, it will flop.
