Favorite song this year. I expected a much better result but I can't complain about it either. It was so sad to see him after he got the public votes as it was visible he was disappointed. I hope France keeps up with this kind of songs in the future and I wish Amir success in the future xlove

Of course, he was disappointed, it is a normal reaction. He was high in betting odds, he was getting good vibe from fans and general public, so normally he expected "more". But surely, once he sleep over, he will realize what a great result he has achieved :) He is too nice a person. And yes, I hope to hear more of him in the future.

Happy to see France ending 6th - a well-deserved finish! Hopefully sending a great song and getting their best result in over a decade should tell the French broadcaster (and other countries) that, if you stop moping about bad results and actually do something about improving them, you'll get a good score. I still think the song had the potential to win - it was just let down by mediocre staging and live vocals (I remain baffled by Amir's ability to sing a perfect rendition of every Eurovision 2016 song except for his own ). Hopefully we'll be seeing France top 5 next year with something even better!

I had this one as an epic flop but it wasn't - one of the few positive results yesterday!
The performance lacked something... but at least it gave France their best result in 14 years, so that's quite an achievement!

The general sentiment I've been seeing on his Facebook page and on Twitter from French people is that they're proud of him. Even Amir said himself that this was the first time in a long time that the French have really gotten behind a Eurovision song and candidate, and I think this result has made France believe again after many years of recent disappointment. A 40-year point record for their country was broken, this was their best result in 14 years, they got their first "douze points" in 5 years and they were top 10 in both the jury and the televote.

I hope now France 2 take what they've learned from this experience and build on it

Very well spoken! I couldn't sum it up better than this. And super happy for French nation :) Amir did a great job.

Bravo la France pour cette très belle 6e place, ça va faire taire tous les rageux et les mauvaises langues (surtout en France) !

France deserved so much to get this nice final result ! Of course I would have loved to see it higher, and even winning, but 6th, for France, is already a winning place :D

Congrats to my own country even though I didn't root for the song.

6th place is nice, I hope we'll continue to send songs that aren't hopeless, for once we were the most successful country of the big 5

The Spanish version is even better than the original. Can't stop listening! Congrats Amir.

Amir did a great job himself. The staging was not the best though... look at what Belgium managed with a song that I never even expected would reach the finals when I first heard it.
Maybe France could have jumped up a place or two (?) with another staging - but a 6th place is always good!
So congratulations to France.
Even though an entry is one of the favourites ending in top 10 should never be concidered a flop.
But I am a bit surprised that France didnt do better in f.eks Scandinavia.

The one thing, and only thing really, that bugged me wasn't the fact he let the backing singers do the difficult high notes (so many acts do anyway) but the fact that it looked like he pulled the mic. away and didn't even look like he was pretending to lipsync it xdoh

Maybe he was and I was seeing things , but that's what it looked like at first glance

It wasn't the huge success it was expected to be only recently but a sixth place is a good achievement and the best result for France in a very long time. Third with the juries and ninth in the televote is a respectable result.

France has seen now that they can be successful. They need to focus more on the staging and bring something that makes them stand out visually as well (but not Russian style, of course). I hope France will stay on track next year and soon Eurovision might be held in France again.

Strange to see France is by far the placed Big 5 country. :D

Well done, I hope they will continue this way. This was well deserved and after I saw all performances and it stayed on my list as number 6. So, I am satisfied.

Love the French version, but the Spanish version is amazing. France need to keep on sending this sort of stuff. Congrats

Looks like Amir's off to a great start already! The song is already #1 in France on iTunes, #7 in Israel and Luxembourg, #12 in Belgium, #13 in Armenia, and charting well in other countries such as Russia. Here in Canada, it's #8 on the iTunes Francophone singles chart (it peaked at #7 a couple of days ago).

Even his new album (which I have already played twice and love) is a big hit in the French-speaking countries, currently peaking at #7 in France and charting well in Switzerland and the Wallonian side of Belgium
