The important part is that she loves "J'ai cherché" imho ... that (and the fact that she's with me) proves that she's got a good taste ... xshifty

It might be as important for you as it was for me when my friends hated the crap from :se: as much as I did... xlove xlove

Sorry for yet another quick off topic, but seriously - who is that obese woman? From time to time, people use gifs with her, but I have no idea who she really is.

That's Mama June from "Here comes Honey Boo Boo" ... American TV, do I need to say more?

I googled what is "Honey Boo Boo Child" and yes, I have definitely seen this scary little girl somewhere. So, members of this grotesque family are famous for being fat and doing disgusting facial expressions?

Well, back to Amir then :)

Maybe his staging is simple, but a good song doesn't need anything more. No gimmick, no dancers, no artificial decor. If the people like the song, they will vote for the song, not for what's around it, or what could turn away the viewers' eyes. Amir will be able to give the viewers his charm and his joy, as nothing around him will distract those who have the power to vote.

I get extreme satisfaction out of badly made movies/TV, but even so, the show's unwatchable without even redeeming train wreck value.

In lieu of the promised tweaks before Sunday, here's how I would do it:

1. Keep the simple staging. I'd keep the purplish-blue background for the verses, but when it really hits the chorus, transition it to something a little bolder and brighter. It's a happy song, so happy colors on the choruses would make a big impact
2. Unless they're working on some strategic camera angles for the performance, it would be kind of good to have Amir move around a little more
3. Maybe have the backing singers on stage instead of offstage?

Other than that, the rest seems fine to me

I liked Amir's staging a lot, it seems to look better on stage, i really like the solar system background but it needs more movement, like thoushands of Halley's commets rounding on the background would create a beautiful effect, the visuals are something clicke but people will love it, you will see :)

This song doesnt demand of a pretencious showy circus as Russia has staged this year pretending to win the contest with a very outdated song, obviously people will like the performance, but the song doesnt have an international projection as the spanish or the french entry have.

what i agree with most of you is that i feel the stage too empty, it needs movements as is a happy danceable song.

I dont know, but I actually like France's staging. At the end of teh day the focus is on him and I think that could be an advantage. It really depends on how people will vote this year, do they want a simple performance or a high tech, over the top, mindblowing performance? I really dont know. Maybe France will make changes until tomorrow, we'll see. :)
Still my number 1! :)

Haha, okay. Just to mention I've seen that on screen too, it's almost certain...

And yet plenty of others saw it on screen in the press centre and the reaction was not good at all. It will likely do well in the televote, but surely the juries will punish it.

From all the juries that expressed their opinion France seems to be doing quite well with them (usually among the favourites) so from the looks of it they wouldn't punish it. Or is there something that we are missing out?

That was about Russia, not France.

After the rehearsal, Amir talked to William from Wiwibloggs about the message behind the staging, what changes are possible for Sunday's second go-around and a few other things. I know Wiwi trashed the staging yesterday, but this was a great interview

Gosh, that guy interviewing Amir is son effeminate. Quite disturbing tbh.
