No top 10 then?

I prefer waiting for the staging before reconsidering my judgement. ;) It could either help us reach it or hinder us. Based on the song alone, I'm not sure. But that's just my feeling.
In addition to that, we still don't know how much people will vote for us. The last time we did well in televote was in 2010 (8th), so we may as well be eventually "underrated" even if the performance is great.

That might be a new beginning for France?

I understand tuorem behaviour. French people always like criticizing themself and say that we will be last and so on... But on my side I'm very confident and I'm sure we will do well.

That's not true. I didn't say (or wish) we'll be last this year. I just don't share your enthusiasm to the point of believing we are currently among the best ones. But fair enough ^^

As for criticizing, I'm not representing French people. I'm totally unbiased when it comes to Eurovision, so when I'm critical, it's because the song is not satisfactory enough for my taste and there's a lot of room for improvement in terms of quality and originality. Despite our bad results, poor entries and France 2 relative incompetency in Eurovision, I still care about my country and hope I'll be able to root for our entry one day. In the meantime, I like commenting on what we have this year. :p

We'll see how it turns out.

Ok, call me whatever you like but I yawned during Amir's performance tonight xboring

I thought at first that the backing vocalists with tutus were trashy, but they were actually the most memorable element of the performance. They should definitely keep them imo. The beginning was ok when they were standing next to him, it looked like the beginning of a scenography, but then nothing happened. I don't know what they're preparing for Stockholm but the backdrops and camerawork have to be on point to make all this look like it's dynamic.

Amir's vocals were acceptable, but not amazing either. I wonder how they'll replace the studio backing vocals during the "you-ou-ou" part, he'll definitely have to fully hit those notes. And his stage presence is Margaret-like at the moment: walk the stage dude! come on! clap your hands and pretend you're happy to be there!

The camera definitely loves him

He comes off as very cool and laid back but TOOOO laid back. Perhaps he can take a caffeine shot or something before performing

THE GOOD:

-He has really good vocals in both languages.
-The easy, breezy instrumentals fit well.
-The song is quite memorable.

THE BAD:

-My one minor nitpick with the song is the switching of languages.

THE VERDICT:

This is a really good song from France, and it has two languages for the price of one song, which is also good. It has a good chance of winning, I feel, but we'll have to wait until May to find out. 10 points

I prefer the original version instead of 3 mins version xshrug

the 3 mins version just sounds like a failure remix of J'ai Cherche xshrug

why Amir, why??? xcry the original version was perfect

The remix version is soooo good, much more power in the end. Good job. And I continue thinking that french song is the most modern of all entries selected this year.

I don't like that there's even less french language in it, but all in all it's still good and another fave of mine, since I finally listened the whole song, yesterday xheart

Changes are pretty good, I think, considering they had to cut about 40 seconds off. The cut-off point in the second verse does feel kinda awkward, but I do always get used to similar cuts with time (eg. Poland 2014/Italy 2015), and they've definitely elevated the ending. Much less static and repetitive now. I don't think my score's going to go any higher than the 8 I've got at the moment, but considering that cutting out 40 seconds usually hurts my opinion of a song much more than this... yeah, I'll take it.
