I have the feeling that this song could be a hit in France, which will be a premiere since Amina...
Please France, next year send John1 from Bretagne with the epic song called "Parrot"..
I'm already thrilled about this!
Who wouldn't be?
There it is!
After most of the entries revealed France has still one of the best and modern song. I'm sure we will stand out among all those not original songs.
Because you think France has an original song? :? I can see why people love it but the English chorus makes it really generic and uninspired.
France 2016 = UK 2014, I really can't see an outsanding performance for this live.
I take Molly's song over Amir's anytime tbh.
The "advantage" we have this year is that it's kinda catchy and it sounds current (and in line with our mainstream music scene), hence why we're doing well in the odds at the moment. But I agree, this is completely safe and unoriginal, we have tons of songs in this style in France.
I think this was a reasonable move from France 2 to send that song - at least it doesn't feel like it's "off-topic" compared with other entries - but it's far from being a bold choice.
No doubt we'll do better than the last couple of years though
As we go along this contest (in 2016), it seems that France will, on the one hand, manage to get out the bottom 5 in which we are stucked since 2012. On the other hand, it sounds that Amir will achieve a top 10 score ...
And that's probably what France 2 wanted to achieve That's just my opinion, but if we get a top 10 with this, it'll be because of the lack of outstanding songs and not because our song is strong itself. That's what usually happens during weak editions. As Julien4ESC highlighted it, our chances to do well increase because there's very little competition
French 2016's song isn't so... outstanding among the other 7~8 songs which are though.
However, despite the fact that Amir won't win, this could even reach a top 5 score, and I'd be quite disappointed if he didn't even get out of the bottom 5.
Don't get me wrong, if I put my taste aside, I'd be shocked too if it was bottom 5. The song - if there isn't any issue during the live performance - is meant to get a good final placing. Sneaking in the top 5 would be quite far-fetched though, the chorus can stick in people's minds but there's no wow factor. Top 10 is doable if our act ticks all the right boxes: convincing live vocals and stage presence, visuals on point, good draw...
Otherwise, a place between 11th and 15th is where I'd see us end up, like Amaury and Jessy.
