Ah ok. That's cool. It's really made the stage look entirely different. Are they the only one up until this point who have used this feature?
I believe at least Cyprus is also using it, not sure about anybody else

I think we have our first 0% chance of qualify in Malta, sadly. 😥😥😥 She is really good, but the song is awful, sorry. It is so JESC that it will be eaten up by every other song in this semi.

I dislike Stripper aswell, but Achille is a darn good performer, fitting this competition in which you need to be charismatic and confident to succeed. He will burn that stage. He will qualify.

Day 6 Rehearsals Photo Gallery for SF2 Entrants:

My general thoughts on each entry thus far:
  • Iceland
Pretty much kept the NF staging and tweaked it to fit the ESC stage. It's so simple yet effective. The clever use of the LED screen to make sure the black sun is well incorporated into it. I really hope they qualify. Pleased with how the overall staging look.

  • Norway
Another performance that basically translate the NF performance to the ESC stage. Nothing wrong with that as most people will see this for the first time. Looks polished and good. Vocals wise, not the best, but then again, this song doesn't need a great vocalist. The black sun definitely works to their advantage in a way as it could be seen as a spacecraft.

  • Armenia
I love what they did by bringing their own intimate set. My only concern is everything looks very sterile. Should have dressed Rosa Linn in another colour so she doesn't blend into the set. Vocally consistent.

  • Finland
The vocalist sounds much better compared to the NF performance. Though the black balloons and the camera angles seem to successfully hide the black sun, but I am not sure if the overall staging looks good. The staging in the NF looks much more impressive with the laser light shows. But here, it looks dull in comparison.

  • Israel
I like what I see. The 40 sec rehearsal clip is not going to do justice for the entire performance due to some questionable camera angles. But I have heard very good reviews of the camera work and how polished and slick the performance is, so I think we are in for a treat. Michael as usual slay with his vocals. And yes, no more black sun and the effective use of floor LED.

  • Serbia
The same NF performance translated to the ESC stage. Nothing much to add on as expected. But the black sun is again impacting the performance because clearly Serbia is relying on the LED screen for the backdrop. And I have said it before, red lightings + white outfit, a total clash with Israel. The showrunner is obviously sabotaging both entries.

  • Azerbaijan
If just judging by the 40sec clip, you really can't tell much. But it seems like we are going get really effective camera work here. Colour me intrigue. And as usual, Nadir sounds really good.

  • Georgia
There is something lacking in the performance. It feels void of energy even though the staging looks so much fun with the colours. Think it has to do with the camera angles, they look sloppy. Vocals a little shaky too.

  • Malta
The staging looks good not gonna lie. But what's with her vocals? They are shaky as hell. I thought she sounded amazing in the pre-parties. Seems like the dance routine is taking away her ability to sing well and she sounds breathless. She should not have done a dance routine as she looks sloppy with the dance moves.

  • San Marino
I love that he is living in his own world while performing, like he doesn't give a shit what people think. But to be honest, if he is going to sound like this, he is likely going to be killed by the juries regardless how insanely good the staging is.

:mt: The Amy Diamond jumped out. I almost like it. In fact, I do like it.. at least the staging part. The gold is fabulous. Now if only there was a song to go with all this snazz and sparkle. It's rehearsals so of course we can cut some slack but those vocals will need to be five times better on the night. She sounds like she's just done a marathon here.

:sm: What a showman. Fabulous! Finally this song is coming alive. Staging is a lot of fun (can't wait to see the bull in action) and Achille looks fabulous. Jury will likely do this one dirty but the public support should be enough.
Oh god... it really looks like Amy Diamond. God... It has passed more than 12 years since her last MF participation.

I agree expecially with the Israel-Serbia thing. The running order in my opinion will kill Israel chances because of the fact Konstrakta come next with a similar color pattern for the stage and since Serbia has one of the best stagings of the year. I'm not gonna live, I don't like I.M. but he is really charismatic and his voice is really good. I don't have Michael in my top 10 in this semi, but I won't mind him qualifying.

The second semi has much more interesting performances, the difference is like huge for me

Finland is alright, it is a bit too dark and I don't really get the whole thing with the balloons but vocally the singer has improved. The performance needs a bit more energy for the live show imo even if it hurts the vocals a bit.

For Israel, it is impressive how well he performs both in terms of vocals and choreography and it seems like a good performance but the parts that are more spoken with that high pitched voice that he makes are kinda annoying. He sings perfectly fine in his normal tone.

Serbia has a captivating performance, it is my favourite from the ones released so far. Everything is just on point here. I will be really surprised if she isn't in the top 6 of the semi.

Azerbaijan seems like a very artistic performance and he sings great but it just isn't for me.

I'm not really sure what I think about Georgia, it could work with faster changes of cameras but as it is right now something doesn't click. If this is from the better parts of the performance I don't see it as a qualifier.

Malta is a bit too cheesy but it is a good performance. Juries will definitely put them in but I can see televoters going for it to a degree too.

San Marino is seems fun, though something still is a bit off with it but the performance elevates the song a lot. Televoting should like it cause it isn't the messy over-the-top kind of performance that they had last year, this is much better executed and has and a humorous aspect to it.

I dislike San Marino's song but I must admit their staging is impressive

If it's so sincerely, I don't know why some delegations aren't using it, since the problem is the LED's not being there... 🤔🤔🤔Only Cyprus and Israel used that screen. Why in your opinion?
Probably more Acts would have opted for it if they knew about the issues earlier- I'd guess it's simply too short-notice now for such major scenographic changes for the delegations.

Well, if she sings like in this clip, juries are definitely putting them out lol.
Yes but juries it general tend to favour Malta, sometimes regardless of song and/or vocals, I imagine due to them doing poorly in televoting

🇬🇧 United Kingdom take to the stage…

Aaaand we have the biggest prop of the contest so far – a metal structure made up of three enormous wings, like something off the set of a sci-fi movie. For scale, each section is bigger than Australia’s staircase, maybe four or five metres high? Sam’s on an illuminated circular plinth in the middle wearing a black outfit with silver trainers, giving it HUGE vocals as the structure lights up, then finally opens up. It’s visually really impressive, and Sam does a great job of connecting with the cameras too.
The final twenty seconds of this takes a turn from the recorded version, and provides an EPIC finale. Very well played, United Kingdom.
This screams great staging and big flop staging at the same time, lol. Not much in between.

From this bunch of songs what I would absolutely love to have in the final are
1 San Marimo❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
2 Serbia❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
3 Norway❤️❤️❤️❤️
4. Israel ❤️❤️❤️
Also would like to have Finland ❤️❤️and Georgia.❤️❤️
Not saying the rest are bad.

That's like half of first half of SF2. Is it me, or I have a feeling we may get more finalists from the first half of SF2 than the second half. Has that ever happened before? I know usually it's the other way round.
