I'll start with the bad news. With Malta I don't know what I was expecting or what sort of song would have been better instead, but for one reason or another it just narrowly fails to hit the spot for me (sorry). As for the other 2 songs released today, Georgia I actually like more than last year and Azerbaijan even moreso, but I suppose this year does seem a little bit unexciting to me even if it's more just that there's less gap between what I like and what I don't like, I'm probably the one person that actually doesn't mind the contests from 1991,2001 and 2011 though!

How I try to rank my entries:

12 = Legendary and iconic *removes clothes*
10 = Loveable little things
08 = Great entries but I'm not hyped
07 = Good entries with some weaknesses
06 = Decent enough but I feel no excitement
05 = Distinctly average or you’re doing a Jendrik
04 = I’ve got problems
03 = Ok you’re annoying me now
02 = Really not very good
01 = Pants
00 = When you're a homophobic government tool making shitty pub rock

I've got the exact same top 4 as last year just with a slightly different ordering. Poor Vasil though. I think some of the songs on 10 and 8 points are going to drop if I'm being entirely honest (Belgium for instance has no return appeal for me). The year has been good for variety. A lot of different flavours. I wasn't expecting to have so many spicy bops near the top of my ranking but a lot of them are great this year. Czechia, Ukraine and Australia were humongous artist turnarounds for me. They were sitting on 4-5 points from me last year and now they're 10 pointers. I'm pretty certain that in the end it's going to be between Georgia and Slovenia for my number 1. I do love San Marino and Latvia but Ana and Tornike brought too much bait for me not to respond. I'm happy as well that Poland randomly delivered me a synthy trololol hype hit right at the end, much I know to the disgust of Poles everywhere, I'm sorry.

It's finally over and what a wild ride it was! From the early days, with FiK, the Eden flop and the French NF to the Kirkorov mental trauma and the March overdose, we've experienced every emotion this season. My top 10 is similar with the one from last year but not quite.

Quen Efendi is once again at the top of my ranking, this time sharing the top 3 sunlight with and instead of and . Since Eden went from 2nd to 32nd, she's probably my biggest disappointment this year. The biggest glowup however is , from 40th to 6th. is also pretty constant, from 5th to 4th now.

Overall it's a pretty juicy year for me, as much as 2020 was going to be before cancellation. Can't wait for May!

I really really like this year. So many good songs and the songs between 5th and 21st are so close to each other, I almost can't seperate them. This ranking will be going bananas during the months up to ESC and I love it.
