ESC 2014 Semi-Finals Allocation & Running Order

Have a look at the 2nd Semi..
Something interesting is happening there:
At the moment we have 3 entries (Switzerland-Belarus-Finland) and none of them is a ballad.
Israel will also NOT have a ballad.
FYR Macedonia & Austria will have up-tempo songs.

Conchita could easily have a disney cliché ballad.

I hope so, I hate her disney ballad from the 2012 NF. We could very well send a ballad again, there could be a lot of ballads in our NF what with Ryan Dolan's failure last year and RTÉ's poor judgement.

How do you know that?

Unless she has a super outstanding song (which I doubt) I think she will 99% fail. Uptempo or ballad, she will most probably send something cliché + she will not be taken seriously with those looks. Juries will kill her and people will not vote much for her since drag queens are not trendy anymore.

Also in this Semi 10/15 countries will qualify. (Austria also has back up with Germany and Switzerland at least)
So it depends on the song.And you dont need to have a super song to qualify.
She will have a decent song that talks about discrimination and everybody should be accepted as they are bla bla bla.
You better get use to it.

I hope they don't put too much effort in and waste their money. It will be another 3 years before Belarus qualify

On the question of Austria - I don't think they will qualify. I want them to, because if fear if they don't ORF will start throwing a fit over it and withdraw.

I remember Germany didn't vote with high points its own song in Congratulations edition of 2005 in Copenhagen, I remember that Germany gave to its own song from Nicole 4 or 5 points, so everything is open for me, don't be so sure about a possible exchange of votes...

With all but three songs now released, I'm still happy with my January predictions. I would only swap Lithuania and Switzerland for Macedonia (or Slovenia) and Malta.

Why are you so sure for Georgia? They haven't even released the song, neither Norway nor Conchita!! I think we we'll have to wait for all the songs to be released but I think for sure that Greece and Romania are locks on the final and Malta and Belarus to be out
