I think we will see one of the "big" countries in the first half of the semi-final fail to qualify. With big I mean the ones that usually qualify: Sweden, Iceland, Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Estonia. I think we'll see at least one of them failing this year.

It is hard to say at such an early stage and without knowing the running order. For example in SF2 Any of that first half can be screwed if they go first. In SF1 first half, Russia and Azerbaijan are a sure thing, unless something goes horrifically wrong.

SF1 is kind of predictable, even at this early stage. Its SF2 that is hard to predict. Although I do have an idea based on history and rumours.

Eurofestivalnews has published an article about diaspora vote in Italy.
According to their numbers, the televote for the second semifinal could be like this:
12 - Romania
10 - Poland
8 - Macedonia
7 - Switzerland
6 - Greece
5 - Belarus
4 - Austria
3 - Georgia
2 - Lithuania

I predict that this is going to happen:
Semi 1 will have VERY strong entries (also will ex ussr countries)
Semi 2 will have weak or bland entries.
So,many good songs from the strong semi 1 will stay out,and many meh songs from Semi 2 will qualify.

Probably will be what happens. But it is so hard to predict semi 2. Examples would be Austria and Switzerland - both will probably have poor songs (we already know Switzerland's finalists) but with a low number of participants in the semi and the both getting points from Italy Germany and UK could possibly mean they qualify.

Don't forget that Germany gave only 1 point to Switzerland last year and the songs they have in the selection this year are even worse.

Have a look at the 2nd Semi..
Something interesting is happening there:
At the moment we have 3 entries (Switzerland-Belarus-Finland) and none of them is a ballad.
Israel will also NOT have a ballad.
FYR Macedonia & Austria will have up-tempo songs.
