Really didn't expect to like this national final lol, as I really didn't like the last 2 years. I'm not sure any of these song would achieve much at Eurovision, but I enjoy quite a few songs here.
1. Sannie - Boys On Girls ... I don't think it particularly excels in showcasing quality or anything special, but it still stands out in the selection and it's quite a captivating groovy retro house track with a vibe I really enjoy & liked immediately. I'm not sure it would get them through to the final as it doesn't have a competitive feel to me, but it's a nice song to just listen to and most up my alley.
2. CARLSEN - Standing Up For Love ... Bless this one. It is cheesy, but also heart-warming. Like coming home to something, it's so familiar and recognisable but somehow that makes it even better. The 80s-90s girlband ballad feeling & the pattern of the melody ... I find this so charming.
3. Anna Ritsmar - Starlight ... It's such a charming adorable tune, especially the unexpected low-key chorus. Instead of feeling underwhelming, it's just a rather interesting and lovable song to me.
4. KARUI - Signals ... Definetly in a way the most interesting out-of-the-box entry in the edition, so plus points for that as I didn't expect it. Not my favourite in the end, but I dig it, it has a good feeling to it and I like her delivery.
5. Ditte Marie - Riot ... It's more like what I expected from this selection honestly. In the end it's not my type of song, but it has a certain energy and conviction to it which makes me rank it higher than half of the songs.
6. Rikke Ganer-Tolsøe - Holder fast i ingenting ... This has grown on me quickly. It's nothing special and quite cheap and feelingless, plus it won't be very effective on stage I'm afraid, but I enjoy listening to it, better this than a song that's too obviously trying to be so on trend it's obnoxious.
7. Lasse Melling - Unfound ... It's quite a bland song, but at the same time it feels fresh and most modern in the selection, don't mind this one, but I'm not in love either and it's not something I'd rush to listen to outside of the selection.
8. Rasmussen - Higher Groun ... It's just not my thing at all, though I can understand why it's praised & objectively I think it's a pretty good entry.
9. Albin Fredy - Music For The Road ... A very disappointing and annoying chorus, I actually enjoy the verses and I don't exactly dislike this song, but again I feel there's not much quality or real effort here.
10. Sandra - Angels To My Battlefield ... I want to like this, but the chorus feels so off? They could've done so much more with it, but it's... a really boring chorus that basically puts me off immediately. Also her vocals do nothing for me, maybe she can portray more emotion in her performance, but I'm not feeling it in the studio version.
