Dark horses:

* Austria: I've got the feeling that this one will actually do way, way better than most people expect. Not a winner but a good combination between a more or less solid televote and a even better jury score will left this one somewhere in the second half of the top 10.

* Russia: Divisive, but it will stay in the top 10 thanks to good support from the televote.

* Belgium: A new Tom Dice? The sentimental factor will bring some televotes and the performance will be good enough to convice most juries.

Flops:

* Norway: I just don't see this anyone near fighting for the top. At best, it will be in the left part of the scoreboard but that's all.

* Hungary: Just don't get it. Doesn't sound like the kind of song it could shine in a scenario; Qualifier? Sure. A good contender for the title? Heck no.

* Italy: I actually LOVE Italy this year, it's on my top 5, but the rock sound will scare off both the televote and the jury.

Dark Horse: Israel may be a surprise, also Austria maybe. I think the Austrian song itself will be well accepted by the audience and if people don't mind a tranvestite, it might score well. But I'm afraid that there are too many people with a narrow view so Conchita might be scaring to some.

Flop: Armenia & UK (considering they are fans' and odds' favourites) and I also think Greece and Russia won't do that well as they usually do at the Eurovisian.

FLOPS
Israel: fan favourite, but got slot 2 and might prove a litle too agressive for ESC.
Austria: another fan favourite, song might sound too old fashioned and formulaic for non ESC ears
Poland: Ethnic hasn't been doing well in this contest lately and if they don't get a spot on staging this might not live up to expectations.

DARK HORSES
Latvia: puerile, unpretentious, happy clappy, catchy, family songs have a history of doing very well in this contest.
Montenegro: despite being somewhat bland, this is still the only available Balkan ballad and instrumentation is still typically impressive. Late slot might finally help this country out of the semi.
Moldova: if they manage to nail the staging and the vocals, this is so going to pee all over Israel and Austria. Big if though.

I also expect Malta and Iceland to make it into the final but they are sort of middle of the road competitors and that wouldn't really be much of a surprise.

Dark Horse:
:mt: Juries will love it
:me: This will do really really well!
:gr: not too sure whether this can be classed as a dark horse because I am not sure what the general opinion is but it will be top 10
:es: Not sure again about opinions on this, but I think it will do really well

Flop:
:pl: I don't think it will do as well as everyone is hoping - could be around 15th though..
:se: Not exactly a flop.. but considering it is 2nd favourite I think it will flop in that respect... could end like 10th at most
:at: could go either way.. really well or flop

Flops

Azerbaijan - too dull and way too serious. Don't think the audience will fall in love with this. Perhaps around 10th place?

Armenia - I don't think it will fail massively, but I don't think the first 1,5 minutes of the song will be too appealing. Top 5.

I also think that Sweden (sadly), Hungary or UK (one of them) will flop completely and end up 20th-26th.

Dark horses

Iceland - maybe I'm biased :D but outside the Eurovision world I think the audience will really like this. It's fun, catchy and memorable. Top 15.

The Netherlands - a calm, radio friendly song. Top 15.

Montenegro - a Balkan ballad is always appealing. Top 15.

Flops:

:az: = The song could easily get people to begin sleeping before it is over. Could end outside top 10
:am: = The dubstep motion should have been placed much earlier in the song, this can be the flop of the year
 = See Azerbaijan

Dark horses:

:lv: = Even though i hate this song, it can get many votes from "ESC-haters"
:me: = I beginning to like this one more and more, will surely get the points from Balkan this year

Dark Horses:
:me: - The song has grown on me as well, I would be very happy for them to get into the final for once, and be even happier if they get a good placing.
:nl: - It's a very mellow and subtle song, but if placed in the right position, it might do very well.
:lt: - My gut is saying that this will do better than what most people expect, also partly because I liked this song much more than last year.
:at: - Bad press is good press. Might be the biggest surprise of the night.

Flops:
 - While the song is good, there's something missing that I can't pinpoint. Also, if he sings like he did during the national final then it will be a flop.
:az: - It's actually one of my favorite songs this year, but the live has to be as good as the studio version. It might be me the first time Azerbaijan lands outside the top 10.
:am: - It's a very well composed song. Although, he can just as easily mess up as much as Norway.
:it: - Another favorite song of mine that might flop on how she looks and performs the song.

Flop:

:se:
This will reach the final, but will end up on the right side of the scoreboard. The song really hasn't got anything special and I can't see why it is predicted top 5.

:il:
Even though I really like the song, I have the feeling that it won't work on stage. I am afraid they might even struggle to reach the final.

Dark horses:

:at:
This will do way better than expected. Conchita is a very good singer and the song has a universal appeal without being bland.

:lv:
Latvia will do surprisingly well and might even reach the final.

:ch:
I wouldn't be surprised if Switzerland - with a good performance - will do a Gianluca and enters the top 10.

:mt:
I can't really explain, but I have the feeling that Malta will surprise.

:by:
Much as I hate to say it since I can't stand this song, but I have the feeling that Belarus will do well.

Dark horses:

:ua: - Even though it's like 6th favourite to win in the odds I get the feeling a lot of people rule this one out. Think it'll end up being a surprise top 3 entry.
:lt: - Will definitely make the final and do better than most expect.
:mt: - Malta tend to be quite a dark horse, they could be top 10/15 with this.

Flops:

:hu: - Hungary are a bit inconsistent in Eurovision, everyone expects this will do well but I can see it surprising everyone in the bottom 5. They'll surely make the final at least though.
 - Another inconsistent country in Eurovision, not sure a lot of people will be screaming for this and it could end up in the bottom 5, but again will still make the final.
